For some time now, I've been thinking of changing my current blog name of yummiebitez into something else. I've had this name since college, when I didn't know any better and when obviously spelling didn't matter. Although it is cute and quite catchy, I'm beginning to outgrow the name.
In case you are still wondering how I came up with the name, it's a really pretty simple story.
I'm sure everyone can relate to the AOL days of swtlilprincess01, aZngurl4EVER, or pnayliscious screen names (for the record, none of these are my screen names but I did have something remotely close to it). Not that I am ashamed of my ethnicity and what have you, but I didn't want any part of that anymore.
So, one random day, I was eating those Hershey's cookies and cream chocolate bites (whatever happened to these). And I thought to myself... "Hmm, bites. That sounds cute." I tried a few other adjectives before settling with "yummy". To make it even sound "cuter", I decided to change up the spelling... and yummiebitez was born.
As my years get closer to thirty, I feel that maybe it's time to rebrand my name if I want to keep on blogging (which I'm hoping to be doing for many years to come). I know I really look young for my age that even I sometimes forget how old I really am. It doesn't really help that sometimes my online name still sounds a little childish when I mention it to other people.
Yes, it's catchy. Yes, I've had it for so long. Yes, it's my identity. But, I do think it's time for a change. Maybe it comes with this nearing quarter life crisis that I'm always talking about. I'm just thinking that few years down the line yummiebitez might no longer be suitable for me anymore.
I've been brainstorming a few names today which will remain undisclosed unless I go on with the change. But what do you think if I do end up changing my blog name to something else? I know it's a lot of work, but has anyone gone that route? Do you think it'll be confusing?

I've thought about changing my blog name too! Mine also sounds too childish...plus, it doesn't even relate to my blog topics...but I think it'll be fine...when I changed mine once it wasn't bad at all...I still had all of my followers...just remind your followers that you're definitely changing your name so that they'll remember what you changed to.
