DIY: Oldie but a Goodie

A DIY bug bit me recently. I decided to start with something simple. I mean I used to make these when I was younger. Piece of cake, right?

I didn't realize that this is actually being ambitious. It's been awhile since I made one (let's see... 7th grade maybe), and I didn't realize how much work goes into making one. This bracelet alone took about two tries, six to seven hours later, and cramped hands. This isn't a joke. To make this single bracelet alone is very tedious and requires patience.

But, I am happy with the results, and that I have another bracelet to stack on my wrist. I was getting a little worried that I didn't cut enough thread to make a bracelet to fit my wrist. Thank goodness the thread stretched out a little bit and my wrist is small. Everything worked out in the end.

I chose this color scheme because truly reminds me of my childhood. Remember Lisa Frank? How about colorful popsicles on a hot summer day?

This is the first of many (hopefully) DIY bracelets I'm planning to make. These old time favorites are great for stacking bracelets. And, the brighter the better for summer, please.

Not sure what has gotten into me, but I've been really getting into thrifting and diy projects. I've been to a couple of thrift stores and I've walked away with some good finds.

I'm also in search of a good DIY blogs. Do you know of any that has made it to your regular blogroll? Please share down below!
