Striped Shirt and Linen Shorts

Striped shirts are one of my staple pieces in my closet. I have three different stripe shirts (in different styles) that I like to wear in rotation. But this basic black and white stripe shirt is my favorite.

April Showers

Not gonna lie, but I've been loving how it's been raining lately here in LA. As much as I appreciate LA's sunny weather, it's a nice change when it's gloomy and raining outside. It also gives me a reason to take out my Hunter rain boots that rarely see the light of day... or should I say the rain?

I frequently get questions about my Hunter boots on how I really feel about them. As much as it doesn't rain here in LA, I love wearing them when it does. In fact, sometimes it rains a little bit more often here just so I can take them out of the box. This is the style of boots that I have. Since I'm a little bit shorter and have a smaller feet (I'm a size 6 for reference), I decided to get the big kids version of these boots. I'm wearing size 4 (boys)/5 (girls). If you're a true size 6 (women), you'll still have some wiggle room inside. These would easily fit if you're a size 6.5. I've worn them in the snow and layered two socks (or boot warmers) for additional warmth. They're a little loose if you wear them with thin crew socks if you have a size six feet.

Not sure if it was just me, but it took me awhile to get used to these boots since they are made of rubber. You might want to bring extra shoes if you're going to drive with them. The shaft of the boots are fits just right for me even if I layer thick socks over my pants. I also much prefer the big kids version for my height (I'm 5'1) since they don't hit my knees like the adult versions which makes them more comfortable for walking.

I hope you guys had a great weekend! I'm still trying to get my place in order and on top of that finish get started on filing my taxes. The agony go getting them done. But it's one of those adult things that just really has to get done. It'll be my fun before-going-to-bed activity.

With all the spring cleaning that I've been doing, I've also been updating my Poshmark closet with some new items. Please check it out and give my pre-loved/barely used items a new home <3.

It's Always Sunny... in Palm Springs

It's Alway Sunny... in Palm Springs

I'm so excited for this weekend! I know it's only Wednesday, but my mind is already wandering to Palm Springs. It'll be my first time there ever. Almost every Memorial Day Weekend has been spent somewhere in Vegas. I told myself to limit the Vegas trips and try to go to other places I've never been. So the boyfriend booked a hotel for the weekend, and we'll be on our merry way to this giant oasis in the middle of no where.

I still need to pack, but I can't wait to relax, do nothing, bask under the sun, and drink some adult juice while the rest of LA experience a low 70 degree weather... not even cold enough to go to the beach.

My luggage will probably have one outfit that looks something like this. What better place to wear a wide brim fedora other than Palm Springs. I will definitely have my Zara hat in tow. And Equipment blouses are quickly becoming an obsession. Their shirt is just so damn soft. As far as bag goes, I currently have my eyes on the PS11 or PS1. It changes depending on my mood. Lastly, I can't believe that I found something similar to the shoes I previously pinned here. I haven't been into cut-out shoes lately, up until I saw some hybrid looking ones, and these Topshop shoes are close enough for me. Too bad they're out of my size.

So, what's are your plans for the long weekend? Fortunately, my weekend some what starts tomorrow! But I'll be in class for Beauty Lab at the new Youtube Space in Venice. It's a whole day shenanigan with other beauty/fashion Youtubers, and I'm really excited!

Lookbook: Aqua Pants and Floral Blouse

No tripod pictures today! So for this post, you'll get to see red bricks as my background.

So last Friday, I had a mini pow wow with some lovely fashion bloggers.  But I'll save our shenanigans that day for my next post. For now, here's what I wore that day.

Lookbook: Leopard Sweater + Ombre Highlights

As I mentioned previously on my last post, I recently got my ombre highlights redone. Since my hair has grown and I've gotten several haircuts, my first ombre highlights were almost gone. I decided that this time I wanted to go lighter than what I had previously.

Lookbook: LBD - My Laced Black Dress

Aside from having a little black dress, all girls should own a laced black dress. Nothing defines feminity more than a laced dress. Depending on how you wear or accessorize it, a laced dress can be either sexy or demure.

H&M laced black dress; Forever 21 khaki cardigan; vintage belt; bangles from H&M; Kimchi Blue (Urban Outfitters) flats

Have I told you lately how much I'm loving California weather right now? I swear, only in LA can you have summer in the middle of January. It's such a luxury to just bask under the sun and not have to worry about if I had layered enough to keep me warm before leaving the house. Having the sun out after having 30 degrees of cold weather and non-stop heavy rain coming down is a really nice change. I'm a big pansy when it comes to cold so anything below 50 degrees is considered freezing for me. But hooray for warm weathers for allowing me to dress up like this more often.

So today, I decided to wear my "LBD" to work. Since I'm working in an office setting, I can't be dressed as if I'm going to the club. To tone it down to something more appropriate, I threw a loose khaki cardigan on top and cinch my waist with a thin belt. I opted for brown just to break the the black theme a little. I also wore black tights since the length of dress is above my knees and I didn't want to show too much skin. For my footsies, I'm wearing flats today to keep it simple and because my legs are still sore for days after taking workout classes lately.

I also kept my accessories simple by just wearing two bangles on one arm. Although it's not the most practical thing to wear because of the noise it creates, and not to mention, the bulkiness of the bangles that makes it difficult to type on the computer, the bangles complete the look for me. I just have to take it off when I'm just working in my area.

So, do you think this ensemble is work appropriate in a business casual setting? Yay or nay?
