Kelis vs. Lady Gaga

I guess Kelis is where Lady Gaga gets her inspiration.

I still love her though!

Speaking of Lady Gaga... guess who's going to see her? MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm going to see her perform at Staples Center in August!!! I got very lucky to snag a pair of tickets online in the 100 level section! I was pretty bummed when I found out that both shows sold out after 30 minutes of being released to the public. A concert five months away sold-out in 30 minutes is insanity! I can't wait!

Rah rah ah ah....

Quote: Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply...

"Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her a groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her love, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So if you give her any crap - you will receive a ton of shit."

Happy Monday!

FOTD: Beyonce (Telephone Music Video) Inspired Look

I'm sure everyone has seen the latest Lady Gaga and Beyonce Telephone music video. Ever since I've first heard Telephone, it has been one of our jams during our Vegas trip a few months ago (that and Bad Romance). And when the music video came out... I was simply in awe on how well the whole production was done (c'mon shades made out of cigarettes, who would've thought of that).

Here's a quick look inspired by the video. For starters, since I haven't been wearing any makeup, I thought I should go for a quick and easy look. I chose model my look after Beyonce's look in the video where she entered the diner in her yellow curvacious dress.

Pretty simple look. Lime green eyeshadow on your entire lid (Shu Uemura T4 eyeshadow), matte brown eyeshadow (MAC Wedge eyeshadow), and a pearly white to highlight your brow bones (MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow). I used a liquid liner (Revlon Color Stay liquid liner) for better precision when doing my cat-eye and I lined my waterline with MUFE in 0L.

For my cheeks, to add a bit of color, I used Paul & Joe blush 12 and MAC Redhead (limited edition) to highlight.

And for the lips, I used a golden brownish lipgloss (NARS Sandpiper).

Spring 2010 Vans - Sophie

I'm all about comfort when I'm dressing up (or down). Sure, it nice to put some nice heels on once in awhile, but I'll always have a soft spot for flats and comfy shoes.

I've been on a look out for Oxford style shoes. And I was happy to see that Vans came out with these Sophies. Suree, they look like bowling shoes, but they're kinda cute! Pair it with some leggings or with your cute girly dress and you're good to go. They're perfect and in time for spring when you're out and about enjoying nature. Me want it.

You're mine after Easter (For those who don't know, I gave up shopping for lent. womp womp).

Crisco > Creme de La Mer???

"At bedtime, I put Crisco on one half of my face (did I just say that) and Crème de La Mer on the other. (The creator of La Mer is probably rolling over in his grave right now.)

Cut to 9 hrs later. The La Mer side was plumper, and perhaps slightly softer than the Crisco side, but in my magnifying mirror, the pores on the La Mer side looked clogged (bigger).

The Crisco side was much firmer and had no clogged pores."

Here's a post that I came across comparing Crisco (you know the vegetable shortening) with the coveted Creme de La Mer which costs almost a leg. I'm just both surprised and kind of in awe.

First, of all, who's idea was it to smear Crisco on your face and actually thought it would work? I'm kinda skeptical yet actually curious just to see if it'll do me any miracle. But according to the reviews on, Crisco seemed to be getting positive and glowing reviews from users averaging 4.5 lippies. Granted, less people (in comaparison to La Mer's reviews) have actually tried using this product as a moisturizer (face or body). But then again, I never really heard about it until now.

I've never tried La Mer nor justified to buy a $130 teeny tub of moisturizer for that matter. I'm usually open to cheaper alternatives (that works) with skincare. However, I still don't know how I feel about slathering vegetable shortening on my face while I sleep.

Has anyone tried using Crisco as an alternative to moisturizer? If you have, what were your experiences with it? If you haven't, would you try it?

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 0L (Review)

Oh whaaaaaat?!? A product review?!?! It's been awhile (a long while) since I've done of these.

If you're wondering what's the stubby looking thing right below the eyeliner is, that would be my first MUFE eyeliner that I purchased. I remember I purchasing it last year at the Makeup Show LA. It has gone a long way for me and it has served me well. I really used that liner up til it was gone!

This eyeliner has been my best friend for the past some odd months. The time and effort I do to get ready for my face has slowed down just like my blogging did. If I was going to have some makeup on my face, this will be it. Line my waterline, and I'm out the door.

What I really like about this eyeliner is it stays on my waterline, or if it decides to wander, it's minimal to none. And it hasn't failed me yet when I'm out in the wee hours of the night dancing. It stays put. I used to touch up my liner after a few hours or clean up any smudges with other brands, but not this. And I really love how black the eyeliner is. It's really, really, really black. Just the way I like my black eyeliners.

I've mainly only used this eyeliner on my waterlines, not so much on my lids. If you have oily lids and you didn't prime your lids, don't expect a miracle that it'll stay nice and pretty because it most likely won't.

FTC: Product was self purchased. For any questions about the product review, please feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment below this post.
