Summer to Fall Lookbook: Meshed-Up

I guess I shop at Zara too much. I just realized that the whole ensemble was from Zara. Zara will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Here's look number two in my Summer to Fall Lookbook video (if you haven't seen the video, please check it out). Our fall weather is very mild compared to the rest of the country. It's both a blessing and a curse. It's only in LA where shorts and sweaters make absolute sense, but sometimes I just want to bundle and cozy up in a nice chunky sweater.

Summer to Fall Lookbook: Denim Dress

H&M denim dress and utility jacket / Forever 21 beanie / Rag & Bone Harrow boots (comes in 6 colors) / Forever 21 necklace

I have been meaning to post these pictures from my latest lookbook video from my Youtube channel where I styled some of my favorite summer pieces for fall. For the first look, I wanted to wear my favorite summer dress again for the cooler weather, so I've paired it with my favorite military jacket to keep me warm. I also like how the denim blue and olive green pairs well together.

Since LA fall weather is abnormally warmer compared to the rest of the country, I could still get away with my bare legs and just booties.

I'm going to be posting the rest of the looks from the lookbook video below for the rest of the week. But for now, you can watch how I styled the rest of my summer pieces down below.

Criss Cross

LnA t-shirt / Fire Denim Short Overalls (similar) / Betani Sandals (similar) / Celine Nano bag

Happy Sunday! I just realized how much criss crossing is going on in this outfit. There's the sandals, the cross body bag, and the back of my overalls. But yes, clearly LA hasn't received the autumn memo yet since I'm still dressing up as if it's still summer.

Anyway, just popping in here to say hi! Hope everyone had an amazing and relaxing weekend.

Little Black Trapeze Dress

Forever 21 dress / Nike sneakers / Dogeared necklaces (one and two)

Since we haven't fully embraced fall just yet, I'm still parading around town in dresses. I randomly saw this dress hanging on its own and was drawn to the silhouette and its neckline. I also found this one that's similar but with sleeves. It's one of those dresses that you can easily dress up or dress down depending on how you accessorize it. Heck, you can even wear it over some pants for the cooler weather.

DIY Lace-Up Flats and Shirt

I usually get really inspired to film a DIY project when I try to clear things out of my closet. That's when my mind starts to roll with ideas on how I can transform something old to something "new". So sometimes I end up keeping things that I should really toss or give away, but I'm glad I kept some of the things in my closet today for this DIY.

Even though I'm going through my closet trying to figure out what I don't need, I also start to think about what I think I'm missing in my wardrobe. I've noticed that the laced-up style has become more popular lately. Lace-up skirt, shoes, shirts, and dresses... you name it. And because of this, my subconscience has been on a look-out for some laced-up flats. I have been perusing online (on Topshop and ASOS) for a cute pair.

Here are some options that I've also been eyeing lately. Click the left and right arrow to scroll.

And as I keep digging through my closet, I realized that I have a plethora of henley shirts from Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister (henley shirts were part of my uniform back in the day when I used to work at both stores). Then I thought, this could be something I would wear again by adding a little something to it to make it a bit more updated.

Here are some inspirations for my DIY lace-up shirt.

So on to the DIY. This one is super easy to make and you could practically do it to any of your clothes that needs a little bit updating. But my favorite part of this DIY is that there is no sewing involved. At all.

Video and Picture-by-Picture instructions after the jump.
