Before I begin, I also just want to mention that I almost forgot how much time it takes to draft a product review (from taking photos, writing this post, etc.), especially if it involves swatches. I quickly realized this as soon as I started working in this post. It's been awhile since I've done a beauty product review, but after working this one out, I think I figured out a method. But, it made me appreciate other beauty bloggers who does this on the daily. I mean, just swatching 12 different lip colors was a feat itself.

Photos, swatches, and review after the break...
I'm usually your pink/mauve/red lip color wearer on a regular basis. So when I received this massive bag of goodies from NYX Cosmetics after attending their IMATS after party and seeing this liquid lipsticks, it piqued my interest and made me want to try out their nude lipstick line out. Their soft matte lip creams are actually one of my favorite and go-to lip products, so I already had high expectations that these will be just equally as good.
These liquid lipsticks are packaged like a lipgloss which comes with a doe foot applicator. The doe foot applicator is slightly longer and skinnier compared to the applicator in their soft matte lip cream. I feel that the applicator with the NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks allows you to really shape your cupid's bow for a cleaner look. The liquid lipsticks were also individually plastic sealed for safety.
The Lingerie liquid lipsticks have this mousse-like consistency as it glides on your lips. I found that it takes about a few seconds for the liquid lipstick to dry matte on your lips. Sometimes some of the lip color changes slightly as it completely dries. It also has a bit of stickiness to it when you put your lips together, but it's not incredibly tacky that it's annoying to wear. I didn't find these to be drying on my lips, but you better have exfoliated and applied lip balm on your lips prior to application, because it can enhance any cracks or dryness on your lips... and that's just not that sexy.
These liquid lipsticks held their own. I wouldn't say that they're long-lasting, but they do take some work to take off. When I was swatching these lipsticks, I found that using a makeup wipe didn't really take them off. I found better results by taking them off with extra virgin olive oil.
As far as how long they last, if I'm not eating anything (which let's be honest hardly ever happens), it stays on my lips for hours. I even worked out with it on one day and drank my water with it and the lip color is still there at the end of my work-out. I find that the liquid lipstick didn't really transfer too much on the glass when I had a drink, but it definitely faded after I ate or took a bite out of something. They tend to settle on your top lip which I found out the hard way after looking in the mirror during an event and realized that it had looked like I just lined my lips. I didn't experience any feathering which is always a plus for me.
On to the swatches. I've marked the ones with an asterix (*) as my picks or favorites, and have provided the color description from the NYX cosmetics website first and italicized.
Grey-toned beige. Honeymoon is greyish-taupe nude. I normally wouldn't reach out for a lip color like this, but I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on. It also kinda reminded me of that OPI nail polish "You Don't Know Jacques". It definitely gives off that 90's grunge look, which is really popular right now.
Muted purple. Embellishment is a bit more on the lavender taupey side. Again, something that I normally wouldn't even think of wearing, but I like how the dusty lavender color looks nice on my lips.
03 Lace Detail
Nude pink beige. Lace detail is the pinky-nude of the collection. It freaked me out a little bit when I initially applied this one on my lips because it was just too light for my usual. However, after it has dried, and I looked at the photo, it was not that bad. I'd probably reach for this as my lip color if I ever do a smokey eye look. This is probably one of the colors also that you'd have to make sure your lips are moisturized and exfoliated because it will show the cracks on your lips.
04 Ruffle Trim*
Cinnamon Pink. Ruffle Trim is a peachy pink that looks amazing on yellow-toned skin. It's also a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) color for me and easily one of my favorites. It's a great every day neutral lip color and is perfect for office wear.
05 Beauty Mark*
Chocolate brown. Beauty Mark is a brown nude with some reddish undertone. This one came as a surprise to me since I wasn't expecting to like this one since I didn't usually wear brown lip colors. It's a gorgeous color and very 90's inspired. I feel like this would be something Kylie Jenner would wear on a regular basis.
Brown spice pink. Push-up is a peachy nude with a slight hint of pink to it. I prefer this over Lace Detail as my smokey eye lip color since it doesn't wash me out as much.
07 Satin Ribbon
Nude Beige. Satin Ribbon is a very pale pink for me. Although I don't really like this color for me as it is too light. My lips probably look like this after I've seen a ghost. For some reason, this liquid lipstick was a little streaky and more difficult to apply compared to the other ones. However, this color would definitely look better on fairer skin for a smokey eye look.
08 Bedtime Flirt*
Red tone pink. Bedtime Flirt is more of a mauvey-pink to me in person. It's another favorite of mine since it's another my lips but better (MLBB) color for me. Another great every day lip color.
Toffee nude. Corset is a taupey nude. If Honeymoon had seen a ghost, I feel like it'll turn into this color. It's not something I would normally wear, but the color looked better as it dried. The color is growing on me, but still not a favorite.
Warm rich brown. Teddy is a brown with plum undertones. It is also the darkest color out of all 12 liquid lipsticks. Teddy is almost very similar to Beauty Mark. I feel like this color was all the range back in the 90's and early 2000's and is definitely giving me the Beyonce feels when I wear it.
11 Baby Doll
Nude pink. Baby Doll is a very light peachy nude and is the lightest color out of the 12. This is another liquid lipstick that has very patchy and streaky application. It was a bit of a challenge getting the color to look even on both of my lips. Also, I just don't think this color is doing anything for me as it is too light which washes me out. But if Barbie had to have a nude lip color, this would be it. We'll just leave this one in the drawer for me.
12 Exotic* Warm mahogany red. Exotic is not really a nude, but ok. It's still a beautiful color and is easily on of my favorite. I actually really like this one because it's a nice change from all the nude colors that I swatched. It's a very flattering color and has received compliments when I was wearing it.
Out of all twelve colors, six of them were my favorites and could easily see myself wearing on the daily (Honeymoon, Ruffle Trim, Beauty Mark, Bedtime Flirt, Teddy, and Exotic). I found myself gravitating to either the darker or the MLBB colors. Doing the lip swatches for these liquid lipstick has definitely expanded my color palette since I normally wouldn't go for the browns if I were just to look at them. I feel that out of the 12 color selection, everyone will find a great nude color.
