My Nighttime Ritual: Every Girl Needs One

P1000207

Since some of you have expressed interest in my skin routine, I've decided to make another video! I think I'm gettting the hang of this video editing business. My videos should be coming out in a better quality now.

In relation to this video, here are some of the reviews I did for some of the products mentioned:
- Mandom Cleansing Express Lotion
- Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Someone had mentioned on YouTube though that my links weren't working???? Can someone verify it for me? It works on my end and on my friend's laptop last night. But I just want to double check.

Question: What's you're nighttime routine?

Anyway, thank God it's Friday!

The Power of Makeup. Makeup Does Wonders When Done Right.

I'm usually an eyeliner or mascara kinda gal when I'm going to work. I normally don't do my makeup in the morning since I work at 7:30 am and I'd rather have that 40 min extra sleep sometimes. I work a full-time job, so I usually just go home after work to unwind... and catch up on my blog readings.

Anyway, when I do put makeup on (i.e. going out at night), I try to ante-up my game. Sometimes it's mediocre, sometimes it's a complete utter mess, and there are just times when I impress and pat myself on the back. The key is to practice, practice, and take your time. I had plenty of times when my makeup and hair looked like a complete hot mess. But you learn from them. You learn what color washes you out or what just looks like it doesn't belong there... or maybe you should have blended it a little better.

However, I really do think I've outdone myself this time. Hair and makeup are on point. Too bad when I did this look I wasn't really going anywhere. (Side note: Is it just me or whenever you're just playing with your makeup stash, that's when everything looks good. And you try to replicate it again, and it's not even close to what you had envision?) Anyway, this is probably one of my proudest looks. I'm sorry, but I'm just going to vain and say it, but I think I look pretty good. It doesn't even look like ME! But it is me. I was doing this look for something else (which I might post later on, more on that later), but I think it's worth sharing. Sorry, if I sound a little full of myself, but I'm just excited HAHA.

I wish I had film a tutorial for this, but alas I didn't think about it at the time. Enough babbling, but here's a look that I'll probably wear again for a night out. With the right makeup and tools and enough practice, you can look and feel like a million bucks.

What I Used:
Eyes:
MAC Goldmine e/s on lids
MAC Cord and Brun e/s on my crease
MUFE Aqua Eyes in 0L for my waterline
Black e/s (from 88 palette) on lower lashline and outer V
Miss Adoro falsies #15

Face:
MUFE Duo Mat Foundation in 203
Paul & Joe #12 blush on the apples of my cheeks

Lips
NARS Rose Gitane l/g

See what I mean. It's almost like magic! I'm so happy with how my hair turned out! I usually can never get it to curl like I want to 80 percent of the time. I wish I had put this look to a better use, like actually going out somewhere.

When I'm usually in a hurry and I'm going somewhere, my no brainer combination for eyes are gold and black. It matches with anything 99 percent of the time. It's fool-proof. You can look like a diva in minutes. Pop on some lashes and you're good to go :). Fake eyelashes makes everything ten times better.

What's your favorite eye color combination?

yummiebitez 3.0? 4.0? Anyway it's REVAMPED... again!

After a spending a kajillion grueling hours googling for codes and such, my website has been revamped. New banner and a different look and feel. It's still not to where I want it to be, but it's getting there. I originally wanted to transfer from blogger to wordpress, but I think that'll have to wait for another time. So for now my home still remains at Blogspot. What do you guys think?

I've also created Facebook page for my blog. And if you haven't done so, please subscribe to my Youtube page and follow me on Twitter. I'd really appreciate it :D.

Thank you for all the support and love you guys have given me!

Kisses,

Six Items to Help Your Glow

Oh California weather, how good you are to me. Although summer came pretty late this year for Californians because of a long month of June gloom, it's finally feeling like summer again in the west coast with the scorching triple digit heat. Perfect weather to go tan and enjoy the beaches on the coast.

But we all know that frolicking under the sun without any protection is a big beauty no-no especially with harmful rays that can cause wrinkles, sun-spots, or worse, skin cancer.

Here are some beauty products to keep your skin protected from the sun, and alternatives to tanning that will help you get the golden skin you yearn for without soaking up under the sun.

  • NEW! Sephora Sun Safety Kit ($25) – Try out a bevy of summer skincare must-haves! Unprotected sun exposure is a skincare no-no. Protect your complexion with our top picks of protection, including a UV bracelet that tells you when to reapply. In addition- all proceeds from this summer essential go to the Skin Cancer Foundation, devoted to the prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancer. For more information on the Skin Cancer Foundation, visit www.skincancer.org
  • NEW! Peter Thomas Roth Bronze Instant Mineral SPF 30 ($30) – Turn the dial on this convenient brush applicator mixing SPF 30 protection mineral powder with SPF 30 bronzer for a youthful and radiant complexion.
  • SEPHORA COLLECTION Harmony Trio Bronzer Bronze Trio ($16) – Shed a little light on your look with this three shimmer shade palette. For dramatic results, buff over shoulders, and décolletage, anywhere you dare to bare.
  • NEW! Hourglass Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset ($40) – This universally flattering bronzer and illuminated cream imparts a healthy, natural golden tint, subtly defining and contouring the face.
  • NEW! Sephora Collection Lush Flush in Rose 03 ($12) – For a healthy pop of color apply this sheer stain to brighten up the cheekbones. Apply over tinted moisturizer for a dewy summer complexion or on clean skin for just a hint of tint. Either way, you will look naturally glowing!
  • St. Tropez Tanning Essentials Self Tan Bronzing Mousse ($30- This lightweight, easy-to-apply, velvety mousse dries in 60 seconds and delivers a rich-bronze tan to really give you a bronzed glow from head-to-toe.

The weekend flew by for me pretty quickly. Even with my every other week 3-day weekends, it's still too short! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Squeaky Clean Brushes: How I Clean Them

I'm on a video making roll. Here's a video of how I clean my makeup brushes.

For this tutorial, I'm using Cinema Secret Brush Cleanser.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you guys will have a fun weekend! I'll be checking out the OC Fair today with the bf and Tiffy and her boo. Yay for double dates! What are your plans?

Summer, summer time!: Summer Breeze Look

I was going through my old face of the day posts from a year ago, and my favorite one using NARS Mediteranee duo eyeshadow. I was inspired and decided to recreate the look but put a little spin to it.

I never thought orange eyeshadow would touch my lids like... ever. But it can be surprisingly wearable, and it's probably one of my favorite eyeshadows to wear if I want something a little playful.

And omgee, guess what I actually made a video! I was trying out my new camera to test whether or not it'll give me a better quality video, but I guess I'll have to mess with the settings more or save it in a different setting on Windows Movie Maker. This video took longer to edit than I can imagine -___-*. Any tips?

What I used:
88 eyeshadow palette
NYX eyeliner in Sapphire
MAC Blacktrack gel eyeliner
MUFE Duo Mat Foundation
MAC Redhead MSF
Kiehl's lip balm

That's all folks! Happy Friday!

Fashion "Diet"?: Six Pieces of Clothing for a Month?!

So I was doing my rounds online when I saw this post: Shoppers on a ‘Diet’ Tame the Urge to Buy. It was pretty much a challenge to only wear SIX items of clothing (not including shoes, accessories, or underwear) for 31 days.

My reaction was: WHAAAAAAAAAT?!?! O____O

Six items of clothing might only last me a week or two which and even that's a stretch. But the more I thought about it, what a challenge will it be to your creativity to mix and match six items to last you a whole month with your kajillion shoes and accessories.

I love clothes too much. If I were to do the challenge, I'm not sure which ones will be my six items. Sure it might be easier for guys to do this since I hardly notice what guys wear, but girls check other girls out (don't lie). But imagine the payoff... more money in your pocket that can go to something else. And it does kinda help you put your shopping into perspective. How much of the clothes in your closet do you really wear? But then again, a hobby is a hobby.

QUESTION: Based on your lifestyle, is this challenge doable for you? Would you do the challenge? If so, what will be your six items? I'd like to hear your answers in the comment section.

CoverGirl LashBlast Volume (Review)

I'm sooooo happy that I finally got a new camera because it really does make a difference in the world how my pictures are turning out! It makes me want to blog even more because my pictures are not looking craptastic once I upload them into my computer. The next step for me would probably getting a new laptop. But for now, an upgraded RAM and external hard drive will have to do in the meantime.

With that said, my first product review using my spankin' new camera will be on the CoverGirl LashBlast Volume.

Product Review and Swatches: Urban Decay Apocalyptic (Nailpolish) Kit

When Hautelook had their Urban Decay sale a few months ago, I just know I had to check out and see what goodies they had in store. And besides, Urban Decay is probably one of my favorite makeupline, not just because of their super cute packaging and witty product names, but because of the awesome quality that you're getting when you buy their products.

First item I saw was this baby right here, Urban Decay's Apocalyptic Kit that has seven different shades of nail lacquer goodness. Getting the kit was probably the best way try their nailpolishes without being stuck with a full bottle of what you hate, yet having the variety of colors to play with!

IMATS 2010 (Pasadena, CA): A Makeup Haven

First of all, I'm glad to be back online! I'm finally hooked on the internet at home as my wireless modem came in today. I've been itching to blog for the past week since I have pictures galore and so many recent events happening lately. But with all the moving and stuff... I haven't really had the time or the internet to do much blog.

So on to business...

As majority of you already known, seen, and heard, three weekends ago was the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) which was held in Pasadena. I'd like to thank Sara for inviting me to attend to the show and giving me the opportunity to cover the event. This year was actually my second time attending the IMATS, so I kinda sorta knew what to expect. But I think this year was definitely bigger than the previous one I have been to.

Last year, my main focus was pretty much doing as much "hauling" as I could, and meeting some of the beauty blogger babes as a meetup was setup prior to the event. This year, I tried to cover the event a little bit better and just become inspired back to makeup again after taking a long hiatus from it. I definitely saw awesome work from different talented artists during the show. It's so amazing how much an eyeshadow and lipstick can do, whether it be to transform someone or express your individuality and creativity.

Enough rambling, click on the jump for more pictures!

Sneak Peak of What's Brewing

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I'm kinda disconnected with the online world right now. Having no internet really sucks. i'm currently at my folks' place just so I can bum off the internet (so sad). Seems like I won't be blogging til later next week as I patiently wait for my wireless modem to come in the mail. Til then, I'll be drafting my post on word or something if I'm not running my errands at home.

Anyway, here's quickie post to show you what I'll be posting in a few days (hopefully) even though they'll be ages late :(. In the meantime, I have a ton of pictures to sort through and possibly watermark, especially from the IMATS and the Vegas trip. YESSSSSS, I HAVE PICTURES THIS TIME!

CALI POW WOW 2010

POST-POW WOW VEGAS TRIP (4TH OF JULY WEEKEND) with Tiff and Pink.

Just a quick note... I had an awesome time in Vegas with these two lovely babes. It was such a fun yet relaxing weekend, and our boyfriends got along that they're practically bffs now LOL! All I can say is I really, really, really enjoyed myself that weekend, and being back in LA kinda makes me miss how our vacation just ended so soon! So to Tiff and Pam, thank you for a wonderful weekend! I hope you guys had as much fun as I did. Pam should move to Cali already so we can do this annually!!

Although I may kinda have fallen off on the face of the blogging world and sprout out here and there, the one thing I really loved about being in the blogging community are the ties I've made with different girls that I still try to keep in touch with once in awhile. It is really so amazing to have met so many girls whether it be from a different city, state, or even country! It's kind of surreal.

Like honestly, never did I think in the beginning this will be a result of blogging. It's really awesome to connect, hang out, and even spend a weekend with fly ass chicks that I've connected with online (btw, please practice safe interaction on the net, there are still loonies out there!). Thank you inventor of the internet. It it weren't for you, there would be no way I'd meet half of these wonderful girls in my life!

Anywhoos, I hope this super quick update will suffice for now. KISSESXX

Be Right Back.

Yes. I know. I am pretty lame for not updating my blog. But perfectly good and valid excuse... I finally moved out (yay!), so I'm still running errands and finding out little by little that I need this and that to even live in my own place. Not to mention a whole lot of cleaning and organizing as I settle in to my new pad.

With that said, I still don't have Internet connection. I am blogging from my laggy iPhone. So any online activities are currently done through my phone. Hopefully I'll have Internet by the end of this week because I have a lot of pictures!!! From IMATS, to Pink's pow wow, and not to mention my 4th of July trip. I also have pending reviews for Urban Decay nail polishes, MUFE Duo Mat foundation, and more! So I have stuff brewing right now just no connection to the Internet galaxy.

So that's my quickie update. Hopefully, the next time I sign on I'll have pictures galore for you!
