5 Ways to Keep Your Skin Soft and Smooth This Winter

5 Ways for Soft and Smooth Skin this Winter
Winter is coming, but it doesn’t have to be rough on your skin. Even though our skin may be hiding underneath our winter layers, it doesn’t mean that we have to completely forget about taking care of it.

I’ve teamed up with Kroger to share their Winter Beauty Event, so you can shop and save $20 on your winter beauty essentials by downloading their digital coupons on I was excited to see extra savings on my favorite bodycare products, so my skin doesn’t have to rough it out this winter.

Here are five ways on how I keep my skin soft and smooth and my favorite bodycare products for winter season:

1. Use lukewarm water

During the summer season, I made it a habit to shower in cold water to 1) wake me up in the morning, 2) refresh my skin, and 3) prevent my skin from drying out. Of course, it is easier to shower in cold water in the summer when it’s sweltering hot outside. This winter, as much as it’s nice to take a nice, hot shower after a long day, opt to using lukewarm water to avoid stripping your natural oils away.

2. Exfoliate

Just as how I like to exfoliate my face once awhile, I like to gently exfoliate my body using a loofah to buff out any dead skin cells. Exfoliating helps promote skin cell turnover for a healthier looking skin. It also helps get rid of any dryness and dirt in your pores which allows better absorption of your moisturizing products.

3. Moisturize right after washing

Right after showering, your skin absorbs moisture better when it’s damp. I love using Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer right after showering to instantly lock in the hydration that my skin needs. It’s light-weight and easily absorbs into my skin.

4. Drink water

It’s also just as important to keep your insides hydrated. Our skin still needs hydration both inside and out, so continue to make it a habit to drink at least 64 oz of water a day. Drinking water also helps flush out toxins from your body. I like to keep my water canteen next to me at my desk to remind me to drink water regularly.

5. Moisturize overnight

Right before I go to sleep, I like to keep a bottle of the Jergens Nourishing Honey Moisturizer on my bedside table to apply on my hands, elbows, knees, and feet. These areas tend to become drier for me, so to keep them soft and smooth, I make sure to moisturize these areas as part of my nighttime routine. Since my feet seem to get easily dry the most for me, especially in the winter, I like to slather on the Jergen Nourishing Honey and slip on some socks to help keep my soles smooth and toasty during winter nights.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget to take care of your skin when it’s covered in layers. Hopefully, sharing my winter body care routine has shown you that it doesn’t have to be tedious or expensive to care for you the biggest organ in your body. With the colder weather, it’s more important to give our skin little bit of extra care.

Now you can save an extra $1.00 when you buy one Jergens Moisturizer 10 oz or larger! Don’t forget to check out the Kroger Winter Beauty event to save on more winter beauty essentials.
