Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access Fitting Room Diaries

(shop items below)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early access is in full swing. I've placed most of my orders online at midnight and had some items picked-up at my nearest Nordstrom and received the rest yesterday in the mail. I shared some of the things that I purchased and items that are worth checking out at the sale on my previous post in case you are interested. I will be doing a haul video try-on and review on the items that I got on my YouTube channel like I've done last year, so stay tuned for that. As I got the notification that my order was ready for pick-up, I decided to check the store one more time to see what I might have missed while I was browsing online before picking up my order.

Here are a few things that I tried on and what I ended up purchasing yesterday. I also did a video try-on video on my IGTV in case you'd like to see it in action. It's also my very first IGTV video (watch video here)!

For reference here are my measurements and sizes:
Height: 5'1
Weight: ~97 lbs

Usual sizes:
Top: XS or S (depending on the fit I'm going for)
Bottoms: Size 0 or Size 24
Outerwear: XS or S

Treasure & Bond Waist Detail Tee on sale $38.90 (avail in 3 colors, after sale $59.00)

Wearing an XS, purchased. I didn't expect to like this top as much as I did after trying it on. I glazed passed this while I was shopping online, but I found myself really loving the fit of this top. The material is super soft, and I love the cinching, corset-like detail of this top. This top would look cute tucked in a skirt too for a different look. As you can see in the next image below that this doesn't tuck well inside skinny jean as the material will bunch up by your thighs. It's a nice twist to a plain tee.

Free People High Waist Skinny Jeans on sale $51.90 (after sale $78.00, in color Sky)

Wearing size 25, purchased. I had to size-up on for this pants. I'm normally a size 24 for jeans, but according to the size guide on the website, size 24 = 00. These jeans remind me of my favorite Genetic Denim jeans (see post here) that has definitely seen better days and needs to be replaced. These skinny jeans looked cropped on the model, but it was the perfect length (no need to hem) for me. I loved the fit and how stretchy these pants are on.

Cece Floral Print Shirt on sale $65.90 (after sale $99.00, available in 2 colors)

Wearing size XXS. Another shirt that I just passed by and decided to try. I had this vision in my head that it might look like a cute top tucked in some shorts. I really liked the sleeve of the shirt which was why I picked it up in the first place. It felt and looked a little bit dated for me that I decided not to get it. I also thought that the floral print of this top was not really my style.

Chelsea28 Bodice Dress on sale $85.90 (after sale $129.00, in color Teal Moroccan)

Wearing size XS. This dress fits really well for me. I loved how the fabric felt and flowy the material moved. The dress has a long tie at the back that gives it a very feminine and romantic feel to it. I really liked the ruffled sleeves and hem although I didn't find the ruffled sleeves staying as well as the image on the website. The material of the sleeves felt like a thin, crepe-like fabric that has some movement to it. Even though I really liked the look and fit of this dress, I ended up not getting it since it was something that I felt like wouldn't get much wear. Although I could definitely see myself wearing this at a friend's wedding or a cocktail party.

Leith Sweater Tank on sale $29.90 (after sale $45.00, in color Beige Morn)

Wearing size XS, purchased. This tank would make a great layering piece and looks great worn alone. Most of the tanks I currently own are either black or grey, so this a nice addition to my wardrobe. I like how this tank is not paper thin, but it still a breathable fabric. It's something that I easily wear in the summer or as a layering piece in the colder weather. Even though the tank doesn't look that long, it can still be easily tucked in your jeans or shorts. I was just really drawn to its minimal look and the U-neck line of this tank.

Leith Ribbed Shawl Cocoon Sweater on sale $45.90 (after sale $69.00, available in 5 colors)

Wearing size XXS. If I didn't have so many similar looking long cardigans from last anniversary sale, I would've picked this up (I have two of the BP. cardigan from last year and I love it). This is similar to their last year's version of the cardigan which sold quickly. I remember last year deciding which one to keep between the Leith and the BP. cardigan. I do like this year's version much better than last year's because I feel like I'm not drowning in this cardigan. This cardigan felt extremely soft and cozy, and it's a little bit thicker material compared to BP. cardigan that I have. It's great for the chilly summer nights or as a layering piece during the colder weather. I went one size down since this has a more slouchy fit, and I tend to like my cardigans like this to be just the right fit. But if you're going to be layering your sweater or long sleeves underneath this for the warmer weather, I suggest that you get your usual size to allow a little bit of room for the extra material. There are no pockets on this one, but it's one of those things that would be nice to have to put your hands in.

BP. Ruched Body-Con Dress on sale $31.90 (after sale $49.00, available in 2 colors)

Wearing size XS, purchased. One of my favorite things that I bought during the sale. I wore it to brunch today, and the ruching part of the dress is distracting my food baby belly. I ended up getting the size small instead of the XS since I like a little bit of room in my dress. The fabric of this dress is not as soft, but I'm hoping that it'll feel a little better in time as I wash the dress. This is one of those dresses that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the shoes and accessories.

BlankNYC Meant to Be Moto Jacket with Removable Hood on sale $64.90 (after sale $98.00, available in 3 colors)

Wearing size S. For the past few years, BlankNYC comes out with their anniversary sale moto jacket. I still wear the one that I bought two years ago to this day (see this post to see it on me). If you're looking for a moto jacket, this is a great option with a good price point. I also like the option of the removable hood of this moto jacket.

BP. Plaid Front Button Dress on sale $31.90 (after sale $49, in color Green Botanical Small Check)

Wearing size XXS. I originally purchased the size XS online when the sale happened. I saw the XXS at Nordstrom and figured I should see if this one would be a better fit. I really loved this dress, but I still found that the XXS is still a tad too big for my frame. If you look at the photo, you can see the lace of my bra peeking through the neckline. I'm not one to really wear things that have a plunging neckline since I don't have much boob fat to kinda fill in that area. Had the neckline be a little higher up, I would've kept this dress. I love how this dress feels. It's very soft and moves beautifully. I really liked the whole plaid and front button detail that gives it that very 90s, grungy vibe.

Topshop Rosa Biker Jacket on sale $58.90 (after sale $88.00, available in 2 colors)

Wearing size 4 US. This moto jacket is another great option if you're looking one. This one looks much more similar to my BlankNYC moto jacket that I got two years ago (see this post to see the jacket on me). A moto jacket is one of my staple pieces in my wardrobe. This Topshop biker jacket is a little bit heavier than the BlankNYC moto jacket with the removable hood that I mentioned above. I do prefer this one more over the BlankNYC with the hood since the faux leather has pebbled look and the quilted detail on the sleeves.

Topshop Elbow Sleeve Turtleneck Top on sale $15.90 (after sale $25, available in 4 colors)

Wearing size XS. This top is very form fitting. I was drawn to its silhouette, but the fabric is very, very thin and slightly sheer. Since the material of this top is thin, your undergarment will show especially if you're wearing something lace underneath. I ordered the forest green color online, but I wanted to try the mustard color while I was at the store. I normally like the color yellow on me, but I ended up feeling like a walking mustard bottle with this top. I'll have to evaluate later whether or not I like the forest green better. But for now, this mustard color was a no go for me.

Topshop Jamie Petite Step Hem Skinny Jeans on sale $49.90 (after sale $75.00, in color Dark Blue)

Wearing size 26, purchased. Topshop's Jamie skinny jeans are one of my favorite fitting jeans and because they're very petite friendly. If you're petite like me, these are a great pair of pants to have because there is no hemming required. They fit me like a glove, and I don't have to get the hem shortened. However, I did have to go two sizes up for these jeans rather than just one. The Jamie jeans do run small, and I normally get the size 25 (instead of my usual size 24). But I saw the size 25 and it was tiny! The size 26 fits me really well and the hem of the pants just hits me right above the ankle. I love the raw edges of these pants. I also like the dark blue color which is a little bit less harsh than wearing black denim.

Billabong Sea Ya Soon Sweater on sale $39.90 (after sale $59.95, in color Canyon Khaki)

Wearing a size S. This sweater was one of those things I just saw while I was browsing that I thought might be interesting. Since this is a loose fitting knit with holes in it, you can easily wear this during mild summer weather or summer nights without overheating. I ended up not picking this up since it wasn't something I can see myself wearing often.

BP. Lace Trim Satin Camisole on sale $22.90 (after sale $35.00, available in 3 colors) / Topshop Ripped Denim Mom Shorts (size 4 US, a little too big, ordered size 2 US online)

Wearing size XXS, purchased. I bought the cream colored (no longer available online) last year and repurchased this camisole in black. I like how this camisole has adjustable straps.

Leith Tie Front Pant on sale $45.90 (after sale $69.00, in color Tan Dale)

Wearing size XXS. I originally purchased these pants in XS online for store pick-up. Right when I was checking out, I saw the e-mail come in that it has been canceled since they no longer had my size. Fortunately, I saw the XXS just hanging out by the registers and decided to try them on. The XXS still ended being a little too big and a tad bit long for me. Even with the tie on the waist, it was still a little too big on me and still falls down to my waist. I personally felt like I was wearing a potato sack because the fit was just weird for me.

And that's it for now for my fitting room diaries. Let me know if you've shopped the sale yet and if you picked anything up! Don't forget to check out my first IGTV video where I just sit and chat with you about these items.
