Since we haven't fully embraced fall just yet, I'm still parading around town in dresses. I randomly saw this dress hanging on its own and was drawn to the silhouette and its neckline. I also found this one that's similar but with sleeves. It's one of those dresses that you can easily dress up or dress down depending on how you accessorize it. Heck, you can even wear it over some pants for the cooler weather.
Some days, you just want a no fuss, no brainer outfit. Something just to get you out of the door quickly, while still looking put together. Knowing your closet and having your no nonsense essential clothing items help on days when you're feeling a little stumped with what to wear.
A striped tee is a staple in my closet. I really like this James Perse shirt that I found at my Nordstrom Rack because of the deep V-neckline. It's even cuter when worn with a lace bralette (this one is super cute too) underneath just slightly peeking through.
I've paired my V-neck shirt (I also like this shirt) with a moto faux leather skirt to for an edgy look. In this outfit, I love how the skirt plays as the feminine touch to a slightly tomboy-ish outfit.
And with the latest sneaker trend still going on strong, I'm staring to dig out more of my sneakers out of their boxes and incorporate them with more of my outfits. I'm really liking the whole very feminine and flirty while still being comfortable and a bit boy-ish look. It's really all about how you mix and match your pieces together. So, why not have it work for your comfort.
Side note, I recently just discovered the amazing selection of Dogeared necklaces available at Nordstrom Rack! I have a few dainty necklaces from the brand, and I'm really excited to find that they're over 50% off retail at Nordstrom Rack. I usually wear them alone, but I also like layering them together. Below are some of my favorites:

This has been my summer uniform last summer (you know, since it's technically fall now). Shirt + shorts + Birkenstocks = out the door. Since this past summer was probably the hottest I've ever experienced, wearing a loosely fit muscle tee was the least scandalous way for me to almost not wear anything. It's drapey and it has plenty of arm room (more airflow coming in). It's also a cute way to show off my bralette.
I'm currently in the process of cleaning out my closet, and I'm also rediscovering certain pieces that I haven't worn in a while as go through it. This shirt might look familiar to you since I've worn it in this post, and this skirt was featured on this post.
What I've also been wearing frequently lately are my old sneakers. For some reason, wearing sneakers reminds me of high school since that's all I would wear at the time. I mean can you just imagine walking to your next class in heels? Not that practical. I still had some of my old sneaker collection at my parents' house, so I decided to bring those back in the rotation as well.
Do you have any old clothing items that's making a come back in your wardrobe?
The official first day of Autumn doesn't begin until a week from today, but it's starting to get nippy already! I'm slowly starting to take out my light-weight jackets to keep me warm.
I'm still very much into dresses these days, and I've been some what living in this jersey shirt dress lately. I quickly realized how versatile this dress has been and not to mention uber comfortable. They almost feel like pajamas to me. That just seems like a super win to me.
... but rain hasn't been pouring. I'm still on my Maroon 5 kick right now. If you follow me on Instagram, I would almost always quote some Maroon 5 song in some of my posts. But, I've also been really obsessed with Ed Sheeran's cover of Trap Queen. I'm really excited to see him in two weeks live at the Hollywood Bowl.
Sun's out, so the legs are out (although we are experiencing some serious June gloom right now). You can never have too many pairs of shorts if you live in LA. It makes me hot even thinking about wearing pants in a 90 something degree weather. These new Zara "mom" shorts easily crept in as my new favorite pair. I seriously have some weird obsession with unflattering cuts for some reason (aka man repeller). These shorts doesn't do much help with my tush, but I love how they look.
Can you believe that March is nearly over?! We're already a quarter down through the year. Is it just me or time just seem to go by faster and faster as you get older?
In other news, I think I might just have found my latest TV obsession...
I recently picked up these BCBG leopard pumps from DSW, and these are probably what my closet has been missing. This style also comes in a metallic color which is similar to the Jimmy Choos that Anna Kendrick threw at Jack Black across the stage during their Oscars opening performance. By the way, that was probably my favorite Oscars opening since it was with my two favorites, Neil Patrick Harris and Anna Kendrick. But, I digress.
As girly as I can be, I find that dressing like you're one of the guys can be really, really comfortable. And with the whole sneaker movement, I'm all about dressing down everything with them. Yes, as sexy as heels can be, sneakers will always have 1st place in my heart.
This might have been my favorite outfit that I threw into my luggage. I figured that you can never go wrong with a sweater dress. The red also makes a nice contrast against the gloomy weather and white snow.
