Back2MAC

After one bottle of brush cleanser and 11 depotted eyeshadows...

I got two eyeshadows in exchange :).

So I ended up going back for Warming Trend. I swatched it again and for some reason it looked better when I did the first time. I just decided to get it since the eyeshadows are technically "free" especially that they were limited editions too. I was going to get Evening Aura as well, but for some reason the MAC store at Topanga Mall never got a shipment of it (supposedly). However, I did check Nordies and they did have it. I ended up not getting it though since I got the Expensive Pink eyeshadow already.

Miss Jaclyn Rose actually gave a detailed post that answers any of your questions about the Back2MAC program. In addition to what was mentioned in her blog, Nordstrom and Macy's apparently only swap for any choice of a lipstick while your MAC freestanding store will gladly exchange it for an eyeshadow (in a pot, can be LE), lipstick, or lipglass.

So depot those eyeshadows, finish up those lippies or any other skincare products, as long as you have 6 containers saved up and ready to go (certain exclusions apply), then head down to any of your MAC freestanding stores, Nordstrom, or Macy's for your swap.

  1. Thanks! I'd rather prefer free eyeshadow than lipstick! However, there aren't too many free standing stores around me. I still have a couple products to use before I bring back to Back2MAC.

  2. yay for recycling! btw, just a suggestion on your layout. i like the simplicity of it, but i think you should try to widen the outer columns a bit. :)

  4. Woohoo. I'm depotting my eyeshadows asap! & I'll probably go to Topanga Mall too (even though they're kind of mean there). I like MAC MUAs at the Glendale Galleria better, but I'm closer to Topanga. I didn't know that they'd exchange 6 containers for an eyeshadow, I always thought that it had to be a lipstick/lipglass. I'm not very big on lip stuff. So YAY for the eyshadows! Anyway, I'm subscribing to your blog. Since I learned a lot here. (:

  5. I have question about the back2mac. When I went to return my empty e/s pots to my local freestanding store the MUA wouldn't accept it! She said they need the metal pan too??!! I've heard other people bring it in with no problem??

  7. @ denice: i think the the asian girls are the only not too nice one in the MAC topanga mall. I've never tried Glendale Galleria since it's still a drive, and besides I work like a few blocks down from Topanga Mall. But ya... I was able to exchange my containers for two eyeshadows without a problem.

@ msbeautyvue: i suggest trying another MUA. she's probably new and a stickler. but you dont need the metal pan for back2mac. they should know people depot their eyeshadows.

  8. free makeup is always nice. ;) haha. :D wine is a pretty color, but i think it's more shimmery and subdued that i personally like. it's like a muted purple that looks purpley/maroonish/brown. i wanted a deep/rich purple like maybe a deep violet or something along those lines but it's not like that. so i guess it's more so personal preference. plus i find that i don't like the sheen with this color. i prefer a more matte finish with my liners. a tiny sheen doesn't really bother me, but it has a touch more than i would like. if i wanted my liner to look like that, i could easily foil one of my pigments, which would probably give me a color that i prefer over the wine one. :P i don't know. LOL. i was just disappointed by it because i guess i was expecting too much from it. :P

  9. p.s. i don't shop that often, surprisingly. i just know how to space them out long enough so that i have a lot of products to review without actually having to buy tons of new things. ;) hahaha.
