Chambray Off the Shoulder Top for Spring

When the sun is out, the shoulders come out. I'm currently having the a moment with using the bandana either in place of necklace or choker or layering it with a necklace, especially if I'm wearing an off the shoulder top. I know that Coachella is long gone and done, but I wouldn't mind wearing this when I'm out romping around town.

I like that this off the shoulder top from Morrisday the Label has an elastic band all around to keep the top up especially for me since I'm more on the smaller bust size (president of the itty bitty community). I don't find the elastic uncomfortable while I'm wearing it throughout the day. It also doesn't slide off my chest. It's just the right amount of snug to keep my chest covered.

I've been finding myself wearing this chambray shirt lately especially with paired with a denim bottom. I used to be a little intimidated with the whole denim on denim outfit, but I find myself gravitating to it now especially since Spring as officially begun. This chambray shirt has earned its spot as classic wardrobe staple in my closet as it's one of those pieces that can transition throughout the year (see another denim on denim outfit here).



I've been trying out different styling options for a denim on denim outfit. I've paired this look with a grey coat. This time, I've toughen up the chambray shirt and denim pants with the faux leather moto jacket and some buckled ankle boots.

Happy Friday! It's been awhile since my last outfit post. I'm still trying to find some balance between my blog and YouTube, but I'm just excited to be doing both! It's definitely challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Being on your own really tests all your skills all at once, and you end up learning a new thing or two.




Anyway, I'm back to basics with my faux leather overalls. Something about the simplicity of a black and white outfit just makes life a little less complicated. I really love, love this top from James Perse. It's one of my favorite white button downs. It's extremely soft and light, which makes it perfect for the warmer weather. I'm wearing a size 1 for reference. I'm normally a size 0, but this shirt is more on the fitted side.




Since it's getting a little warmer now each day, I'm trying to get the most use out of my faux leather overalls (dress version). Come summer time, it might be a little bit too hot for me to wear it. I might be able to wear it still in the night time once the sun goes down. I love how it instantly adds a bit of an edge to the whole look.

I hope you all have fun plans this weekend! I just realized that Me Before You just came out today, and I'm planning to see it this weekend. I've been waiting for this movie to come out since I saw the trailer. It's definitely a tear jerker! My type of movie. Even the trailer had me in tears, so I can only imagine what a hot mess I'll be after I watch the movie!

Cold Shoulder

Exposed shoulders cut-outs are making a comeback again. Although, I've always liked the whole exposed shoulder when it comes to showing a little bit of skin without being too risque. Maybe that's part of the reason why I held on to this top for awhile. Yellow is also just a pretty color and appropriate color for spring. But here's another cute option for this top in a dress form.





If you haven't seen my latest DIY yet, I've DIY'd this choker wrap necklace that was inspired by this Free People piece.  It's super easy and a great inexpensive option if you're want to a simple, bohemian accessory to any outfit.

Denim on Denim

Chambray shirt / Striped blazer (inspired by this) / Boyfriend jeans / Silver metallic oxfords / Baublebar earrings (old, similar here)

I've donned on the Canadian tuxedo. You know, just trying to channel my inner Britney/Justin circa 2001 in this outfit. If you are not familiar with the Canadian tuxedo, it's simply a denim on denim outfit. Denim on top. Denim on the bottom. The key to making this outfit work is having two different washes to help break up the look, and not to be too matchy-matchy. I opted a lighter wash of the chambray shirt to contrast my dark boyfriend jeans.





I also added some a bold pattern and metallic accents to dress up this look a little bit. The striped blazer gave it a bit of that nautical feel to the look. And since I chose a baggier or looser fit jeans, I thought the earrings added a touch of femininity and pop of color which made it spring appropriate. This pair would also make for a cute spring accessory (and it's available in two different spring-ready colors!).





I've been loving these metallic oxfords lately as it instantly added a bit of an edge to my outfit. I'm definitely going to be wearing these more often for spring.

Springing into Florals

Spring is officially here! What better way to welcome the longer and warmer days than with a floral sweater/pullover shirt. This pullover has been my favorite transitional piece in my closet. I've worn this pullover during a gloomy winter day to brighten my look.







This has been one of my go to sweater especially on days when I need something to cheer up and brighten my look. I like pairing this sweater with darker color (like with a darker wash pants as seen on this post) since it creates a nice contrast to the whole outfit. I've had this pullover for awhile now, so it's no longer available. However, I did find this one that has as slightly larger print, but just as bright and colorful. Or recreate this look with a hooded version while it's on sale for $13!

Speaking of spring, I did some spring cleaning over the weekend as well! I listed more items from my closet on Poshmark. I hope you'll it check out some of my pre-loved items.

Sequined Blazer

Here's one of things that I found recently in my closet. I almost forgot about this pretty blush-toned sequined blazer, so I decided to bring it back for an outfit post. However, this sparkly blazer is currently up for grabs and listed on Poshmark for anyone who is interested. Since this is such a sparkly piece, I wanted to dress it down a little bit by pairing it with super soft tee, my distressed boyfriend jeans, and my Vans slip-on.

I like how this blazer is very light-weight and I can easily throw it on if I want to look a little more put together even though the rest really isn't. 




Sometimes you just have to find out creative ways to make a piece in your closet versatile. Just because it looks like it should only be worn for a certain occasion doesn't mean you should only wear it for that certain occasion. But with that said, I almost completely forgot I even had this number until I recently purged my closet. One of my goal this year is to get a better handle of what I have in my closet.

Like I mentioned earlier, this blazer is up for grabs on Poshmark for anyone who is interested. It's in a size small and it has a loose baggy fit. Since I've been on a mission to down-size my closet, I'm currently letting go of pieces that I've only worn a handful of times (but are in almost new or excellent condition). Happy Sunday! I just realized how much criss crossing is going on in this outfit. There's the sandals, the cross body bag, and the back of my overalls. But yes, clearly LA hasn't received the autumn memo yet since I'm still dressing up as if it's still summer.
