Blarf

Ever since the temperature dropped, I've been heavily relying on my blanket scarf. Or as I'd like to call it, a blarf (BLanket + scARF). Not only that it adds an extra layer of warmth, but it also adds a nice texture and element to any plain outfit.

My blarf has been incredibly useful especially when we made a quick trip to Mammoth Mountain last week. It was very windy and was snowing the first night we got there. I just bundled up and got cozy with my blanket scarf.

How to wear knee high boots
Off-the-shoulder sweater / H&M skirt (old, similar) / Forever 21 knee high boots (similar here and here) / Zara backpack - see what's in my backpack (similar) / Daniel Wellington watch

Just popping in to say hi! I'm currently editing a new video for my main channel which will be up some time this week.

I was going through my folders in my laptop as I was trying to clear up some space, and I found this look hasn't been posted at all. I wore this outfit in one of my Get Ready With Me video that I posted a few months ago.

What's in My Backpack?

What's in my backpack
To start off the year, I've uploaded my first video for 2016 on my Youtube channel. I figured to start things off with a requested video by peeking inside my favorite Zara backpack.

If you've been following me for awhile now, you might have seen this bag numerous times already. I bought this backpack because I needed a backpack to bring with me when I went to New York back in October. I was mainly drawn to the minimalist aesthetic of the bag, and was surprised on how much room it had. It was the perfect back pack to tote around the city while we were out and about doing touristy things. This has also been my go-to bag when I'm running errands because to allows me to be hands free which is perfect when I have a lot of bags to carry after doing my grocery shopping.

Unfortunately, this bag is sold out at Zara. I've scoured the internet for similar options (in different price ranges) in case you are looking for one:

1. Topshop Leather backpack ($85) - Not as structured as the Zara backpack, but it has a very similar look to it. It has a more of a rugged and slouchy look. 100% leather with silver hardware.
2. KENSIE Convertible backpack ($99) - Same shape and look sans the top handle. This backpack also converts to a shoulder bag. It's a two-in-one bag. Faux leather with gold hardware.
3. Michael Kors Small Rhea Zip backpack ($298) - Slightly bigger than the Zara backpack and has more compartments, but with a similar structure. The backpack is available in 4 different colors.
4. Sophie Hulme Mini Rucksack ($850) - The most similar looking backpack out of the four options. The straps, however, are much wider than the Zara backpack. It is also the most expensive bag out of the four. Cowhide leather with gold hardware. Also available in a Berry color.

Watch the video below to see what I carry in my backpack:

Rainy Day Outfit

Topshop sweater / Pleated A-line skirt (currently 40% off) / Mossimo jacket / Tights / Hunter rain boots / Kate Spade tote

It's been raining for the past two days here in LA lately, and I'm liking it! I like being home and listening to the pouring rain outside while I try to get some work done. I found myself just watching it for a few minutes as if I haven't seen rain in my life. Technically, I really haven't since we have been in a major drought. So having a few days of down pour rain is a nice change. It also gave me a chance to finally take out these Hunter rain boots out of the box.

Winter Date Night Casual Look

Happy 4th day of January. This marks my first official post for 2016 (yay)! However, part of this post was from 2015. So okay, it's a bit of a hybrid because I recently did a Get Ready with Me Video Winter Casual Date Night with a similar look to this post. I switched up the hat with a beanie and wore a different pair of pants in the video (I wore a dark wash jeans from J.Crew in the video). But all in all, both looks are closely similar.
I have this habit of wearing an outfit over and over if I end up loving it. I might switch up a piece of the outfit with something similar in my closet or just accessorize it differently. This look as been a bit of my go-to when I know I'm going to be outside in the cold, and I need something warm and comfortable to wear. I also found myself reaching out for this cable knit sweater over and over again. Because 1) it's warm, 2) it's neutral, so it goes with everything, and 3) it's chunky and baggy = love.

In case you haven't watched my get ready with me video yet, you can watch it down below. The video will show you how I did my makeup, hair, and the full outfit to get an idea on how I dress for a casual winter date night.
