April Showers

Not gonna lie, but I've been loving how it's been raining lately here in LA. As much as I appreciate LA's sunny weather, it's a nice change when it's gloomy and raining outside. It also gives me a reason to take out my Hunter rain boots that rarely see the light of day... or should I say the rain?

I frequently get questions about my Hunter boots on how I really feel about them. As much as it doesn't rain here in LA, I love wearing them when it does. In fact, sometimes it rains a little bit more often here just so I can take them out of the box. This is the style of boots that I have. Since I'm a little bit shorter and have a smaller feet (I'm a size 6 for reference), I decided to get the big kids version of these boots. I'm wearing size 4 (boys)/5 (girls). If you're a true size 6 (women), you'll still have some wiggle room inside. These would easily fit if you're a size 6.5. I've worn them in the snow and layered two socks (or boot warmers) for additional warmth. They're a little loose if you wear them with thin crew socks if you have a size six feet.

Not sure if it was just me, but it took me awhile to get used to these boots since they are made of rubber. You might want to bring extra shoes if you're going to drive with them. The shaft of the boots are fits just right for me even if I layer thick socks over my pants. I also much prefer the big kids version for my height (I'm 5'1) since they don't hit my knees like the adult versions which makes them more comfortable for walking.

I hope you guys had a great weekend! I'm still trying to get my place in order and on top of that finish get started on filing my taxes. The agony go getting them done. But it's one of those adult things that just really has to get done. It'll be my fun before-going-to-bed activity.

With all the spring cleaning that I've been doing, I've also been updating my Poshmark closet with some new items. Please check it out and give my pre-loved/barely used items a new home <3.

Olive Skirt

Marbled sweater
Joe Fresh sweater (another great option) / Vintage midi skirt (similar) / Zara boots (buy similar) / Baublebar earrings

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those who celebrate! ASOS is currently celebrating with a 20% off discount on all full-priced items until 8 am March 18 with the code: CLOVER4. And to get into the spirit of the day, I wanted to share this olive pleated midi-skirt that I found in my closet. I almost forgot that I even had this skirt until I took everything out of my closet during the purge. The things you can find when you just clean your room. It's basically a treasure hunt. I thought that the only green item I have were my utility jackets .

Midi pleated Skirt Outfit idea

I got this skirt a few years ago during a thrift shopping trip. I did a little bit digging (aka internet research) about the brand in the tag since I've never heard of it. The brand is called Paul Stanley. However, the first thing that popped up was the guitarist from the band KISS, which I doubt had a line of women's clothing back in the day.  I didn't really find that much information about the brand, so I guess they have been long gone since there's not that much information about them online.

How to wear a sweater and skirt together

I was mainly drawn to the silhouette and quality of the skirt. The skirt has a very 1930's vibe to it, and I really liked the pleated detail on the hem. For some reason, I like how it's not a super feminine looking skirt. Not to mention, the tag also said petite in it, and the fit was perfect from waist to length.

High-heel Chelsea Boots

Since midi skirts can look awkward sometimes, especially for someone petite like me, I decided to style it with a pair of high heeled mid-length boots.

BaubleBar Monochrome Galactic Drops
I kept the accessory very minimal to a pair of statement earrings from Baublebar to keep it simple yet still put together. I've been obsessed how these earrings can dress up or elevate an outfit. The earrings that I'm wearing in this post are already sold out, but here are similar styles that will glam up your outfit:

Dash of Pink

Joe Fresh sweater (on sale for only $10!) / Black skinny pants / Armani Exchange jacket (similar) / Nordstrom scarf / Forever 21 beanie / Uniqlo socks / Nike sneakers / Balenciaga bag

Did you remember when I colored my hair pink before ringing in the New Year? It seemed like forever ago, but I decided to color my hair pink for 2016. I've always wanted to try pink hair but I couldn't do it since I worked at a conservative environment. So because it was the new year and new adventures, I figured why not just do it. It'll wash off it I don't like it.

Surprisingly, after dying my hair pink, it gave me a boost of confidence. It's funny how a little change can make such an impact. For some reason, it almost like having my hair pink was a slightly different me. I had a different attitude, and I suddenly had a different outlook on life. I don't know if it was just the dye getting into my pores or something, but it was a good thing.

For this outfit, my hair is part of the accessory. The pink stands out and brightens up my monochromatic look. It also slightly matches my socks :). By the way, these socks were amazing when it was freezing cold outside. They definitely kept my toes warm. I can't really speak too much about being cold when we've been getting spring weather lately, but I'm a California girl. Anything below 50°F is cold by standard.

Chunky Chunky

The past two weeks have been hectic. In between my full-time job, editing videos for my Youtube channel (bteedubs, check my latest videos here: DIY & LOOKBOOK), and attempting to still have a social life, I somewhat have sorta abandoned my dear old blog. As much as I try and want to do everything, I still wish the day doesn't only consist of 24 hours.
