And It Was Called Yellow...

Equipment Kenton Cotton Shirt
Equipment shirt (in white) / Joe's Jeans shorts (similar) / Karen Walker sunglasses (also available in tortoise) / Uniqlo belt / EssexLA clutch (similar) / Zara lace-up sandals (old, similar here, here, and here)

Sun's out, legs out. I wanted to coordinate with the mood and weather by wearing a bright yellow top. I love this Equipment top because of its super soft, light, and airy material. I love the little banana embroidery on this one. It's fun and a bit quirky to get you in that summer mood. Even though it's blazing hot outside, my lovely pits :) have some breathing room with this shirt. I'm one to get super hot easily, so if I'm wearing anything long sleeves during the spring or summer, it has to be light-weight material. I also just love the relaxed fit of this top which easily pairs nicely with some light wash shorts.

I added the leopard clutch because it was a nice contrast against the light palette. It's almost unexpected. Another cool thing about this clutch, I was able to customize it, down to the zipper.

Cold Shoulder

Exposed shoulders cut-outs are making a comeback again. Although, I've always liked the whole exposed shoulder when it comes to showing a little bit of skin without being too risque. Maybe that's part of the reason why I held on to this top for awhile. Yellow is also just a pretty color and appropriate color for spring. But here's another cute option for this top in a dress form.

If you haven't seen my latest DIY yet, I've DIY'd this choker wrap necklace that was inspired by this Free People piece.  It's super easy and a great inexpensive option if you're want to a simple, bohemian accessory to any outfit.

Dash of Pink

Joe Fresh sweater (on sale for only $10!) / Black skinny pants / Armani Exchange jacket (similar) / Nordstrom scarf / Forever 21 beanie / Uniqlo socks / Nike sneakers / Balenciaga bag

Did you remember when I colored my hair pink before ringing in the New Year? It seemed like forever ago, but I decided to color my hair pink for 2016. I've always wanted to try pink hair but I couldn't do it since I worked at a conservative environment. So because it was the new year and new adventures, I figured why not just do it. It'll wash off it I don't like it.

Surprisingly, after dying my hair pink, it gave me a boost of confidence. It's funny how a little change can make such an impact. For some reason, it almost like having my hair pink was a slightly different me. I had a different attitude, and I suddenly had a different outlook on life. I don't know if it was just the dye getting into my pores or something, but it was a good thing.

For this outfit, my hair is part of the accessory. The pink stands out and brightens up my monochromatic look. It also slightly matches my socks :). By the way, these socks were amazing when it was freezing cold outside. They definitely kept my toes warm. I can't really speak too much about being cold when we've been getting spring weather lately, but I'm a California girl. Anything below 50°F is cold by standard.

Tropical

Equipment shirt (another color via Nordstrom Rack) / Big Star BF shorts / Forever 21 hat (similar) / Uniqlo woven belt (similar) / Celine bag (similar) / Zara sandals (similar)

Lately, I've been finding myself daydreaming about taking off somewhere tropical this summer season. Although we are fortunate enough that our weather allows us to enjoy the beach year-round, there's nothing like taking off in a plane, and exploring some place brand new. It's in my list of things to do this year to take a real vacation, away from work, where I can simply relax by the water.

As I was browsing Nordstrom Rack for my getaway outfits, this Equipment pineapple top caught my eye. It's the perfect tropical vacation shirt. How can you not daydream about sipping a piña colada while you sunbathe or watch the sun set in Hawaii/Tahiti/*insert some dreamy tropical place here*?

These past few weeks has been a whirlwind for me, so a couple of days in Palm Springs with the girls to unwind and relax for the long Labor Day weekend was in order. Aside from taking advantage of the nice Palm Springs back drop to take pictures, we absolutely did nothing but lay out by the pool to stay cool. You can find some the fun shenanigans we got into in my Instagram.

Going out of town for a few days was the vacation I needed. I haven't had the chance to just do nothing or not have to worry about anything. It's nice to just shut down for a couple of days and just enjoy the company and surroundings. And despite all the craziness that life throws at us, just like the sign preaches, everything will be ok.

Couchella

Lovers + Friends Into It Top, Floral Top, Joe's Jeans Vintage Reserve Cut-offs, Chain Ankle boots, Illesteva Leonard sunglasses, Coachella Outfit
Photos by: JMichael.LA

Happy Monday! The past weekend was the first weekend of Coachella, and I spent a great deal avoiding Instagram the whole weekend so the #FOMO (fear of missing out) feeling wouldn't be so bad. I just utilized my weekend by doing my own relaxing which involved plenty of couch time. And think about all that sleep and TV I caught up with (just to make myself feel better)!!! But, two weekends ago, I spent some time in Palm Desert for a mini vacay. We were able to take advantage of the surroundings and the perfect weather to film my Coachella Inspired Lookbook for my Youtube channel. This was the first look in the video that I might have worn if I went to Coachella this year.

Yellow Leopard

Cold season is upon us! And I have been one of the unlucky ones who caught it this past weekend :(. I ended up spending some quality in my bed with a cup of tea and glasses of water as I nurse myself back to health. I think I was the only person who was stuck in a room on a beautiful day.
