Quilted Faux Leather Skirt

One of the things I like about going-out is the getting dressed part. Something about getting all prim and proper for a night just makes it a little extra special. My night time get-up usually consists of either an all black ensemble or one black staple piece. But for this outfit, I chose to break up an all-black look with this grey coat just to switch things up a bit.
If you're looking to wear a skirt in the cooler weather, I really like wearing faux leather skirts since it gives you the extra warmth that you probably need. You can also layer it with tights if it's a little bit freezing in your area. I've had this quilted skirt from Topshop for years, and I like wearing it during the holidays. Here are other fun faux leather skirt options to wear for any holiday parties you might be attending this year:

Hope you're having a great weekend so far, and checking off names in your holiday shopping list!

3 Chic Ways to Layer for the Holiday

I recently teamed up with Target to bring you some ideas on how I'll be layering for this holiday season! The air is getting cooler, so it's time to bundle up and snuggle. Sometimes having too many layers can make you look bulkier, but here are some outfit inspirations that are both cozy and cute at the same time. You can easily wear these outfit ideas for the upcoming holidays, whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Hanukkah.
Casual holiday outfit

Sometimes spending the holidays with family means lounging around and relaxing in each other's company. It could also mean spending some time outside either ice skating or the park. This outfit is perfect whether you're sitting by the fireplace enjoying a meal with your loved ones, or taking a stroll and admiring the holiday decorations. It's also a bonus that this tunic is very forgiving when it comes to the holiday feast aftermath.

Leather+Lace

Zara leather top (similar) & skirt (similar) & shoes / Chanel boy bag / Daniel Wellington watch / Flash Tattoos

Still have some backlog outfit pictures with my long hair, so it'll be awhile until my short hair makes an appearance on the blog. I have to admit that I start to miss my long hair when I see old pictures, but I was itching of a change. And my hair had to go.

Scalloped

Everything in this outfit is pretty much my latest favorites all together. Especially the shorts! I love the feminine feel of these shorts because of the scallop detail, and the fit is perfect. No alterations needed.

Lookbook: Outfit of the Night for Beautylish LA Event

Long sleeve top, Zara
Bandage skirt, Charlotte Russe
Belt, Aldo
Tights, Forever 21
Shoes, Charlotte Russe
Necklace, Forever 21
Coat, H&M

I'm really surprised on the quality of this point and shoot camera. All of the pictures taken that night came out really nice it was only set in auto.

I wish I can link ya'll to something on where I got the pieces that I'm wearing, but I just shopped my closet for this event. A recycled outfit that actually worked out. My outfit was actually inspired by Lauren Conrad while I was skimming through the pages of her style book. I didn't think I was going to be able to pull it off, but I think this is one of my favorite outfits.

It was chilly last night, so I had to wear tights and a thick coat to keep myself warm. Even though there were heat lamps outside, I still get cold pretty easily.

I'm not sure if you can also tell from the pictures, but my hair is a tad lighter. I originally wanted ombre highlights, but you can clearly tell that whatever I have on my hair are not ombre highlights. My stylist just lightened my hair and gave me highlights without touching my roots. Its getting some time getting used to it, but I'm still a little iffy about it. I'm contemplating whether or not I should get some blonde chunks on the ends of my hair. The only thing is by doing so, my hair will not exactly corporate appropriate. And for those who are wondering if I end up getting a digital perm, I chickened out. I just curled my hair for the night. I couldn't risk my hair becoming too dry and damaged.

I will be posting up my photo blog for the Beautylish LA Spring 2011 Trend Preview on a separate post. I had too much fun. Cosmetics, cocktails, cupcakes, and company. Couldn't be any better night!

Stripped lace overlay skirt, Forever 21
Tights, Forever 21
Suede bow heels, Zara
Camel double breasted coat, H&M (buy similar here)

I just got back today from my wonderful trip. I had so much fun these weekend meeting other amazing beauty bloggers and the Aveeno team. I'm really grateful for the wonderful weekend in Santa Monica while staying Shutters on the Beach Hotel, Exhale Spa for our pampering session, and being backstage for the Independent Spirit Awards courtesy of Aveeno and Recyclebank.

It's so amazing to be surrounded by twenty-five other awesome ladies who share the same passion as me. Thank you so much to Aveeno and Recyclebank for choosing me to become part of this great experience and becoming one of the Aveeno Ambassadors.

This past Saturday was the Independent Spirit Awards, and this was the outfit I wore for the event. I had underestimated the weather that day because it was really chilly and windy. But I was just really glad that the rain was not a factor that day. However, the side ponytail had to go two hours later after being blown furiously by the wind.

After a short but fun weekend, I am now dreading the unpacking part. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, especially with the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards tonight. Are you tuning in?

Lookbook: Leopard and Lace

Leopard print blazer, pleated A-line skirt, H&M necklace, lace tank, vintage; Forever 21; Jezebel Clogs, Dolce Vita

Watch the Video:

Here's an outfit that I wore to the Beautylish event this past Saturday. I even made an OOTD video :). Two things I'm loving right now, my leopard blazer and my clogs. The first moment I've laid my eyes on the leopard blazer was when Pam did her clothing haul video. At first I thought that the blazer was too crazy for my style, but for some reason the moment I saw it in store and tried it on, I thought to myself that maybe it can work out. And it did, and now I'm in love with this blazer!! Second, my clogs are my favorite shoes at the moment. I love everything about it... the wooden heels, the studs *sigh*.

And also, how awesome is my mom for having this tank top still? I went back home last week to visit them and she pulled out this tank and I told her I was going to take it! And now I'm putting it to good use as she hasn't worn this in years. Thanks mom!

Anyway, I'll have have a separate post on the Beautylish event as soon as my YouTube video finishes uploading. For this whole week, I think I'm going to be wrapped up on working on my costume for Halloween. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I've decided on this costume, but I wanted to make my costume so it's guaranteed that I'm not going to be matching with anyone. Oh well, I've already started it. I just hope I finish it in time. I'm just glad that mommy dearest is helping me with it as I don't know how to sew for the life of me. I'll tweet some progress, but I'll make the whole reveal on Friday when it's finally time to dress up!
