I walked my dog, Lionel, this morning and I can finally feel the brisk, cool air for fall. I'm a little excited about this because when I filmed my How to Style: Fall Wardrobe Essentials Lookbook video, it felt too much like summer. It was a little uncomfortable wearing all the layers in the heat. I'm just hoping that it'll stay this cold for Thanksgiving also.
As I've mentioned earlier, I just uploaded my 8 Fall Wardrobe Essentials + Lookbook over on my YouTube channel. It was something a little different than my usually lookbook videos since I only used the eight items that I talked about in the video to create eight different looks. I had a fun time mixing and matching these outfits while I was planning them out for the video.
Sometimes, when I look at my old photos (not that they're that old), I find it a little weird when I see myself with blonde hair. It's the same thing as finding it a little weird seeing myself with dark hair while I had light hair for five years. Hair color and hair styles can really change your whole look and feel.
Here's the second outfit on my How to Style a Basic Tee and Skinny Jeans. If you missed the video, you can watch it here. I did a different video format where I talk about the pieces first that I used in my look book in the video to give you a bit of a background on them and why I chose each pieces.
I feel like we're getting a little taste of fall today as it was cooler than usual. As I took the little gremlin (my dog, Lionel Bean) out for a walk, I felt the cool but crisp breeze outside. It was a nice change since I'm so ready for the cooler weather (and the layering).
It's finally the weekend! I find myself looking forward to the weekends to clean. Yep, you heard it. To clean. Whether it's my room, my place, or my laptop, I spend my weekends trying to tidy up. But this outfit is something I would wear for a date night. It's a little sassy and edgy at the same time. Not to mention the sweatshirt and faux fur jacket combination will definitely keep me warm even with my exposed legs. Since our winters here are milder, my faux-leather skirt keeps my tush warm even though my legs are exposed. As long as I'm warm on top and my feet are covered, I don't get too cold.
This weekend is a pretty action packed weekend. This weekend ipsy is hosting their 2016 Generation Beauty event. They kicked-off the weekend with their cocktail party last night where they had a fun night for content creators only. It was nice to see and mingle with friends who I haven't seen in a while and friends who flew in from out-of-state for the weekend. They also had a cool DJ for the sounds of the night, an open bar, endless (it seemed like) of h'ordeuvres throughout the night. And of course, they sent us home with their humungous gift bag filled with beauty products. Read more after the jump...
This sweater has been getting a fair share of wear for me this winter. I've mentioned it before that this has been my go-to/favorite sweater in my closet right now. I'm always tempted to just wear this every day because it's so easy to wear. I've previously have worn this sweater before (see post here) and have styled it for a bit of a warmer weather. I just love a neutral sweater that'll go with anything.
Just popping in to say hi! I'm currently editing a new video for my main channel which will be up some time this week.
I was going through my folders in my laptop as I was trying to clear up some space, and I found this look hasn't been posted at all. I wore this outfit in one of my Get Ready With Me video that I posted a few months ago.
Hope you are all having a great start to your week!
The dust has finally settled. Christmas is officially over! It felt as if I've waited for this day forever, and it was over in a blink of an eye. I hope everyone had a merry Christmas, for those who celebrate, with their loved ones. I spent Christmas Eve at my parents' house and had all sorts of delicious food that my dad, grandma, and brother made. My mom was in charge of the decor and ambiance of the house.
I just realized that we also only have a few more days left before 2015 is officially over! I'm still trying to figure out what to do for New Year's Eve.
These past few days have been warm for us again lately. Sometimes I'd walk out of the house in a full-on winter outfit, and then find myself sweating a few minutes of being out and about. Sometimes, LA weather is a little be unpredictable. I've learn to consult the weather app on my phone before getting dressed, but even that sometimes can be unreliable. But luckily, I somewhat found a happy medium with this outfit when the weather was a bit in between.
If there's one thing that I like about the cooler weather, it's about wearing boots. Although you can somewhat wear them year-round, I still prefer wearing them when it's a bit cooler outside. I really like how these boots have a some what masculine appeal to them. They are double-monk style boots that's very reminiscent of maybe a pair of shoes that a man in your life might wear. I also like this style in particular because of it's higher heel and gunmetal hardware detail that makes it very edgy. It would definitely look good with a moto-style jacket.
These Paige Denim cropped pants have been on a heavy rotation ever since I bought them a few months ago. I'm still obsessing how well they fit me, and how comfortable they feel. I also love how they look because of the coat on the pants. They're definitely making a few appearances lately on my blog just because I keep reaching for them whenever I'm getting dressed. I've worn them with my favorite sweater, and also have styled them with prints and fringe.
Anyway, if you're wondering why I'm at the airport, watch my vlog to find out.
Final few hours until Cyber Monday is officially over (see my Cyber Monday post with deals and picks here)! I'm still trying to scour online for some great gifts for my loved ones for Christmas. I'm doing it differently this year by not doing my shopping last minute. And I'm proud to report that I've made some progress and have checked-off some names on my list. Sometimes the struggle can be real when shopping for someone else, so I'll be starting a gift guide series here to give you some ideas for the holiday season.
Speaking of shopping, I finally posted my Winter + Black Friday haul on my Youtube channel. These are just some of the things that I picked out for myself since some of the deals were too hard to pass up on. I can't wait to style them in my upcoming outfit posts!
Prior to leaving for New York last month, I needed to shop for some fall wardrobe items for the cooler East coast weather. I was excited for the change of weather since Los Angeles has been late on the fall memo. I needed something warm to bundle-up in and a carry-on bag that I could use while traveling and while I'm out and about the city.
I took a quick trip to my local Nordstrom Rack to check out what they have, and found more than what I needed. I was really surprised and excited to have found this Kate Spade tote marked down to 63% off its retail price. It was the perfect carry-on bag for my trip. It fit my laptop, dslr camera, and everything else that I needed in my carry-on.
Since I realized that the majority of the pants that I currently own right now are distressed (aka has holes in them), I needed a pair to bring with me that would keep me warm. I browsed around for the other items that I needed, and found these Paige Denim coated skinny jeans. They easily became my favorite after trying them on and realizing how they fit me like a glove. It can be a bit of a challenge sometimes finding a good pair of jeans when you're petite. These pants were the perfect fit on my waist and the length. They were also comfortable enough to wear during my five hour flight to New York. I decided to pick-up another pair of Paige Denim jeans in grey to bring for my trip.
As I was about to check-out and leave the store, this cardigan caught my eye. The print definitely drew me in, but it won me over when I realized that it's basically a hybrid between a cardigan and a blanket scarf. It's perfect to layer underneath a coat or to snuggle-in during a long flight. I also love how this added some interest in an all black outfit. It’s always also a bonus when you receive compliments on your outfit!

**Thank you Nordstrom Rack for sponsoring this post. As always, opinions are my own.
Here's the last look from my latest lookbook video. If you missed the first blog posts on the first two outfits you can find click here and here to read all about it.
This is probably my favorite outfit out of all three of them. It's probably because I've been looking for new fall boots and I'm completely obsessed with these boots that I've been wearing them every chance that I get.
And, I know I didn't have the sunglasses in the video (since we shot the video later in the day), but I really love my new Karen Walker Number One sunglasses. This pair has been on my wishlist for a quite some time now, but I recently just bought them a month ago when Shopbop had their friends and family sale. I love how the glasses frames my face, and it doesn't touch my cheek. The frames are also lightweight, yet sturdy. I love the classic look and feel of it that it'll be probably one of the glasses that I'll be wearing for a very long time. They're easily my new favorite pair now.
