Color-Blocking into Fall

Splendid top (similar here and here) / DIY choker - see tutorial here (similar here and here) / Janessa Leone hat / Brandy Melville shorts (similar) / All Saints boots (old, similar here and here)

I feel like we're getting a little taste of fall today as it was cooler than usual. As I took the little gremlin (my dog, Lionel Bean) out for a walk, I felt the cool but crisp breeze outside. It was a nice change since I'm so ready for the cooler weather (and the layering).

I recently found this outfit deep in the archives, but haven't posted yet. This outfit might seem familiar since I have featured as one of the lookbook in my DIY choker wrap necklace tutorial (contains pinnable instructions and video).

I love how fun and playful this look is with the color-blocking top (here's a black and white version) and patterned shorts. It's something I didn't think I would ever put together, but it worked out for me. The lighter part of the top separates the darker pink and blue shorts, but still seem to tie them together.

I paired this look with my fringe booties. I always get a ton of compliments when I wear these. They're from All Saints, but sadly they're old and are no longer available. Here are some very similar fringe booties in case you might be looking for a pair:
