I'm not sure what I was thinking, but as soon as I saw the music video, I knew I wanted to base my Halloween costume on it. I was going to go the easy route and make her outfit on the beach (either the all white dress with the candy poppers or with her in the bikini with the cupcakes on her chest), but I figured might as well go big.
I wish I had taken better pictures aside the ones I've taken during the night, but these are the best I can find on my set.
The candies that I patched up on my dress were all made in felt cloth. Yes, I cut and assembled them together and attached a velcro in the back and stuck it on my dress. Made my life so much easier since I didn't have to sew everything on to my dress by hand. The rhinestones were self-sticked, but they didn't last the whole night. Fortunately, the beads, which were sewed by hand one by one, stayed the whole night.

ReplyDeleteWow, that's an awesome and dedicated Halloween costume! The effort you put into recreating Katy Perry's California Gurls outfit is impressive. All those hand-sewn beads must have taken ages. Remembering simpler times makes me want to hop on Snow Rider 3D and cruise down some virtual slopes, escaping the crafting challenges. Bet you felt like a star all night!
ReplyDeleteCreating costumes from scratch always demands patience and creativity, especially when you add intricate details like those candy patches. I remember once trying to replicate a character's outfit for a themed party, much like the effort here—it took hours of hand sewing and late nights to get everything just right. This post reminds me how rewarding it feels when all the hard work finally shines, whether you're sharing it on Omegle or just with close friends.
ReplyDeleteCreating something truly unique often requires patience and a bit of trial and error. I remember once trying to replicate a character costume for a party, only to realize halfway through that my sewing skills were less than ideal. It turned into a fun challenge, much like the felt candy decorations on this dress. The clever use of velcro reminds me of a quirky shopping trip at Monkey Mart that inspired some of my DIY ideas.
