Beautylish LA 2011 Spring Trend Preview
Time flies. It was only five months ago when I attended my first Beautylish event back in October. This past Tuesday, Beautylish hosted another event at the W Hotel in Westwood to welcome their new Beauty Director, Ning Chao, and to preview this year's Spring Trends.
And, as per usual, great company and conversations over cocktails, cupcakes, and cosmetics. Loves.

The Makeup Show LA Recap (Part 1): Pro-Class: Kit Essentials by Orlando Santiago for Glamcor
My friend and photographer, Veronica, covered The Makeup Show LA on behalf of yummiebitez. She checked out a few classes and took great notes and pictures to be shared here. Read up on her experience...
This past Saturday, I was able to attend The Makeup Show LA at the California Market Center in Downtown LA. The experience was overwhelming, yet exciting since this was my first makeup event coverage, and it was definitely amazing to be surrounded by so many wonderful and talented makeup artists.
The event was very well executed, and it was a good opportunity for professional make-up artists to network with one another; to buy make-up supplies for their kit; to meet and learn from celebrity makeup artists who have made a significant mark in the makeup artistry; and to get a peek at the new products to be launched by different makeup companies. Throughout the day, different workshops were held for aspiring make-up artists to gain new knowledge in their field.
One of the classes that I attended was Kit Essentials by Orlando Santiago for Glamcor. Orlando basically taught the basic things that a makeup artist should have in their kit. He had three big bags of make-up supplies on the stage, luckily he didn’t share ALL of them with us as it would take hours. But here's a list of some of the items Orlando thought a makeup artist should have on their kits (links have been provided where you can shop for the recommended items):

Out of the Beauty Box (O2B2) Tour Review
So here it is finally, it's probably the most awaited post since I tweeted so much about it on Twitter and I have posted a teaser about it on my personal Facebook.
As you may already know, I attended a makeup class this past Sunday which is the Out of the Beauty Box (or O2B2) Tour which was instructed by the two greatest YouTube Gurus, Koren of EnkoreMakeup and Elessa of Pursebuzz.
When I found out about this class through Koren's video, I immediately jump right on it and signed up for the class. I've been wanting to take makeup classes for the longest time, but with my full-time work schedule it was just not doable for me because of conflicting schedule. Makeup classes are usually on the weekdays and requires a full-time commitment, not to mention it can get very expensive. So I was really elated to find out that the O2B2 Tour is actually happening.

Beauty Event: Beautylish LA Day of Beauty
If you follow me on Twitter, you might have read some of my tweets regarding the Beautylish event that I attended this past Saturday at the J.W. Marriot in Downtown LA. I must say that I'm really glad that I went! If you missed my previous post, you can find my outfit of the day post here.
I was really impressed in the venue of the event. I've passed by the J.W. Marriott whenever we'd go to Staples Center or LA Live but never inside the hotel. It was so posh inside. A few escalators later, we reached the sign in table where we checked in and was greeted by the Beautylish team and we proceeded inside the hall.
Right when you walk in, they had photographers ready to take your picture, and pretty much just makeup everywhere. They had set up tables with little jars of makeup goodies that you can take with you. They had some NYX cosmetics and Orly nail polishes just to name a few. And let's not forget about the food! They had some yummy hors d'oeuvres and even a cupcake tree! Too bad I only managed to get try a cupcake since I was so caught up talking to people. Oh, and did I mention there was also an open bar? I loaded up on... water and soda haha since half of the champagne I had in the beginning gave me a kick already.
I also thought that it was neat that they had a manicure station setup where you can get your nails 'did' as well as a makeup station. So since we got there pretty early, we were able to get our nails done without having to wait too long. And if that wasn't enough, Beautylish gave us a makeup swag bag with all sorts of goodies inside!
Ok enough rambling, here are some pictures from the event.

And Heart, you need to get on YouTube or start a blog already (peer pressure, peer pressure). And random fact, Heart and I actually have a mutual friend. I did not know til we added each other on Facebook. Small world!

With Jackie, Ingrid (aka missglamorazzi), and my friend Veronica. I met these two towards the end of the event. Ahh!!! they are too cute for words. Jackie was so shy in the beginning, but she was such a sweetheart. I seriously kinda wish I can shrink her and put her in my pocket and take her home haha. Her mom is also so adorable and sweet! I love how she's so supportive of her passion. Jackie, I wish you lived closer to me! And Ingrid, was just soo warm and friendly. I just learned about her YouTube channel that day when I met her and I'm officially hooked. Her presence on the camera and in person is just the same. No smoke and mirrors there. I was really enamored about her maturity and presence. You'll know what I mean when you watch her videos!
Christina from Beautylish. I kinda found it funny how we shared the same guilty pleasure of reading a certain forum that will remain unknown haha.
And of course my makeup goodies!

I really enjoyed myself and my friend Veronica (who was my +1 for the day) as we met some YouTube gurus (mostly) and other bloggers who has the passion for beauty! I didn't know what to expect when I first walked in, and I'm not going to lie, but I was actually pretty nervous. But after getting settled (and it didn't hurt that I had a bubbly in the beginning), I got pretty comfortable and just started talking to anyone who was next to me >.< although I didn't have to worry since everyone was so nice and friendly!
Thank you again Beautylish team for having this event. If it weren't for this event I probably wouldn't have met these lovely girls! Looking forward to future events to come!

IMATS 2010 (Pasadena, CA): A Makeup Haven
First of all, I'm glad to be back online! I'm finally hooked on the internet at home as my wireless modem came in today. I've been itching to blog for the past week since I have pictures galore and so many recent events happening lately. But with all the moving and stuff... I haven't really had the time or the internet to do much blog.
So on to business...
As majority of you already known, seen, and heard, three weekends ago was the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) which was held in Pasadena. I'd like to thank Sara for inviting me to attend to the show and giving me the opportunity to cover the event. This year was actually my second time attending the IMATS, so I kinda sorta knew what to expect. But I think this year was definitely bigger than the previous one I have been to.
Last year, my main focus was pretty much doing as much "hauling" as I could, and meeting some of the beauty blogger babes as a meetup was setup prior to the event. This year, I tried to cover the event a little bit better and just become inspired back to makeup again after taking a long hiatus from it. I definitely saw awesome work from different talented artists during the show. It's so amazing how much an eyeshadow and lipstick can do, whether it be to transform someone or express your individuality and creativity.
