Featured on Refinery29.com: Los Angeles Street Fashion Section

Click here for the Refinery29 post

Last Sunday, my family and I took my mom to lunch for her birthday at The Stinking Rose. After lunch we decided to head out to Santa Monica at the 3rd Street Promenade for some shopping.

And who would've thought that day would turn out the way it did. After my brother shot some pictures for me to post on to this blog, I was approached by Work it, Berk who was also contributor for Refinery29!!!

Ok, I was already beyond ecstatic when she just asked me if she can take my picture even though there was still a possibility that the said picture wasn't going to be posted. But I was so elated when I saw a tweet today that it was indeed posted on one of my favorite fashion websites.

I've always wanted to be featured somehow on Refinery29, and who would've thought it will actually happen. It's a pretty big deal... at least for me.

On to the outfit post, the hat was actually added to the whole ensemble that day. I dropped by Urban Outfitters just to mosey around the sale section, and was lucky enough to find that their straw hats were on sale for $10! So I quickly pick this straw boater hat up and another hat, and went on my merry way. I ended up wearing the boater hat right after I left the store since I thought it actually completed the look. I knew something was missing... and it was the hat!

Another thing that I've been really loving is the necklace that my mom brought back from her vacation in Canada. I love the big, green beads. I've received multiple compliments on it every time I wear it.

Shirt: H&M
Skirt: thrifted (similar here)
Necklace: Gifted by my Mom from Canada
Cardigan: H&M
Hat: Urban Outfitters (similar here and here)
Suede ankle boots: H&M
Two-toned bag: Forever 21

I don't know if it's just my mom, but my mom always teases me with my choice of clothing. She was clearly not a fan of the skirt, but I really love this skirt because it fits me perfectly without having to hem or alter anything, I love the floral print, and because I found it at a thrift store. Not that I don't love my mom any less, but she's entitled to her own opinion and I just didn't mind it. Anyway, I found it a little humorous that the same skirt would catch someone else's eyes.

Sure not everyone will like your style, even my own mom questions the stuff that wear :), but there's really no right or wrong in fashion. If it's comfortable and makes you feel good, then wear it!
