Lookbook: Elevate + Makeup Tutorial: Nicki Minaj "Fly" Music Video Inspired Look

This past weekend was a friend's birthday and we all celebrated at Elevate Lounge in Downtown LA. It was my first time there, and I must say that it's one of the nicest lounge I've been to here in Los Angeles. Open windows on a 21st floor that overlooks the sky scrappers of LA on a summer night is a pretty sweet spot for me.

I haven't been really into the "club" or "social" scene lately as I have been loving being a hermit and just staying in with my little babooshka, Lionel Bean. However, it was a good reason and a perfect night to dress up and take out my leopard heels.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I previously purchased Steve Madden Westii. I have had my eyes on them ever since I saw them in stores when I was on a lookout for leopard wedges or heels. So, I was pretty happy when I found out they were on sale and Steve Madden was offering a 30 percent off code at the time. However, the Madee shoes that I also ordered ended up being not available and there was an error in the inventory. I was really bummed because I wanted them so badly.

Navy sheer blouse: H&M
Faux-leather shorts: Forever 21 (find similar here)
Leopard Wedges: Steve Madden (find here)
Accesories: Forever 21, H&M, and Michael Kors
Bag: Zara

Despite the height of the wedges, they were surprisingly comfortable. I did have to put some insoles underneath just as an insurance, but I wasn't struggling to walk at the end of the night wearing them after all the dancing and walking down a few blocks to get back to the car. You do need to be able to balance with them since they are pretty high and to be a little careful on carpeted floors as the soles can be a little slippery. But all in all, the wedges fit me perfectly and was true to size. I really love how it was comfortable even though the height of the shoes can be a little intimidating. And the leopard print of the wedges was also a good idea to contrast to my outfit.

Because I loved these pair so much, I hunted down the black suede pairs after learning that they're currently on sale for $49.98. Luckily, I was able to find them at a mall near me, and it was the last pair! Meant to be.

And in case you're wondering how I did my makeup for the night, here is my most recent makeup tutorial which was inspired by Nicki Minaj's latest video, Fly. You know me and my Nicki Minaj. But I ended up really loving this look even more because it kinda, sorta made me like glitter a little more. And also, the look just brightened up my eyes without looking too gaudy especially with the glitter. Nor did I look like a hooker or stripper... and not to mention, it was super easy.
