So this rounds up my Palm Springs outfit post. I opted for a more relaxed outfit since we were driving back to LA. I didn't want to feel fussy during the sad drive back home.

On a somewhat related note, I'm currently watching Sam Smith's iTunes Festival performance (watch it here, you're welcome) as I'm writing this blog post. And it's bumming me out that I won't be able to see him live at the Greek Theater. I say it's somewhat related since this was the album that we played for the most part on our drive to and from Palm Springs. The album evokes so much emotion that you can really feel whatever Sam Smith was feeling that moment. He's definitely one of my favorites right now, and he can serenade me any time he wants.

Everything Will Be Ok

These past few weeks has been a whirlwind for me, so a couple of days in Palm Springs with the girls to unwind and relax for the long Labor Day weekend was in order. Aside from taking advantage of the nice Palm Springs back drop to take pictures, we absolutely did nothing but lay out by the pool to stay cool. Going out of town for a few days was the vacation I needed. I haven't had the chance to just do nothing or not have to worry about anything. It's nice to just shut down for a couple of days and just enjoy the company and surroundings. And despite all the craziness that life throws at us, just like the sign preaches, everything will be ok.

From LA to NYC

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed a plenty of food post from New York. A few weeks ago, I took a much need vacation from work and to celebrate my birthday in New York, my favorite place to be. And you can't be in New York without having your pictures taken in the subway!

Sheer clothing is pretty much the only way to go if you want to layer your clothes. The breathable they are, the better. Because if you're going to pile them on your body, you better make sure that it's not going to stick to your skin in the blazing heat.

If I were to wear jeans, I almost prefer if they're colored or have some sort of print in them. I find myself rarely wearing plain denim jeans. Plain denim almost equates to sweats for me. I don't know why, but recently if I were to wear pants, they need to have something on them.

This is a probably long delayed post, but if you follow me on Instagram (@yummiebitez), you probably had a sneak peak of my biggest fashion-related purchase. This past Valentine's Day, as a gift to myself, I finally purchased my first Chanel bag.

Lookbook: Abstract Skirt

I've had this skirt for the longest I can remember. At the time, I was really attracted to the print when I saw it, but not quite sure how to wear it, yet I bought it anyway. Just like most of the clothes and stuff I own, it took me awhile before this skirt saw daylight.

I've previously worn this skirt in one of my previous lookbok post (by the way, I'm just thinking "what the heck was I thinking wearing that before?" And then I shake my head).

The way I dress up for work and the weekends is almost night and day. I work in a pretty conservative environment, so my usual attire are slacks or pants and maybe occasionally wear a skirt. Although we don't really have a dress code, I try not to roll to work in sweats ever.  Ever since this new position, I've realized that taking the time to dress up for the day can help with how you feel for the rest of the day. Wearing slumpy clothing makes me feel... well... slumpy.

This past weekend was a friend's birthday and we all celebrated at Elevate Lounge in Downtown LA. It was my first time there, and I must say that it's one of the nicest lounge I've been to here in Los Angeles. Open windows on a 21st floor that overlooks the sky scrappers of LA on a summer night is a pretty sweet spot for me.
