How To Style a Basic Tee and Skinny Jeans

I just posted a YouTube video on my channel on how to style a basic tee and skinny jeans three different ways. Sometimes, we get into a rut styling some of our well loved basic pieces. I've shared three different looks on how I rock my t-shirt and skinny jeans for different occasions.

I found myself owning more basic t-shirts in my wardrobe and a good fitting pair of jeans. Since summer is over and fall is here, it's time for me to transition back to my skinny jeans. Here's one of the looks in the video. Click after the jump to see the rest of the outfits and for a quick review on these jeans.

Beauty and Accessories Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul #NSale

LnA tank (similar - on sale) / Genetic denim skinnies (similar - on sale) / Criss-cross slides (similar) / Choker (DIY) / Balenciaga bag

We're back in triple digit temperature here, and I'm finding solace inside the mall where it's nice and cool. It also gives me a reason to pop back inside Nordstrom to check if there's anything I missed during sale. I just uploaded another Nordstrom haul video on my Youtube channel recently (you can also watch it down below). Check out what I've recently picked-up.

I've been constantly checking their website to see if any of the items on my wishlist have been restocked. There's still a little over a week left and some of the cuter pieces are selling out. But not to worry, there are still plenty more to choose from.

Here are some of my previous posts about the #NSale:

I've already picked-up some of the things that I ordered after I published my first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul video. Thank goodness for online shopping and their pick-up in store option. Sometimes I like to do my shopping at the wee hours at night. It's nice to have the option of picking it up since I get a bit impatient waiting for my online order to come in the mail. See some of the beauty and accessory products that I have picked out during the sale.

Shop my haul below

And here are some of the things I'm still waiting for to come in the mail:

- Honeydew 'Camellia' Lace Bralette - I've been ditching my super padded underwire bras lately and opting for a cute lace bralette. These are very similar to the ones that bought at Urban Outfitters a while back.

- BeautyBlender Best Friend Set - This is a no-brainer and a great buy. If you don't own a beauty blender yet or would like to have a backups of it (because you'll need to replace this anyway at some point), definitely pick this up. You can use one for your liquid foundation, and other one for applying translucent powder when you have to bake your face.

- BP Frayed Denim Shift Dress - I've been looking for a cute denim shift dress, and I finally found one! I love the frayed edges of this dress.

- BP Fringe Infinity Scarf - Looks like it'll be a cozy piece for fall and winter. The fringe is going to add an adorable detail to any outfit.

- BP Short Sleeve High/Low Tee - Stocking up on some basic t-shirts. I like how this has a bit of a "longer" short sleeve.

- adidas Boyfriend Tee - Casual logo tee. Very 90s. I would pair this with my new adidas white sneakers.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul (Early Access)

* Click on the icons on the collage to shop items (disable ad-blocker to view icons) *

Watch my haul video to see the items that I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in action:

Early access for Nordstrom card holders to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, the most anticipated sale of the year, started a few days ago, July 14. I popped my head in to check out some of the goods, and walked out with a few bags in tow. The sale will be accessible to the public JULY 22 and prices go back up AUGUST 8. This sale is not like any other sale since this gives you a chance to shop BRAND NEW items at 33% to 40% off their regular price. Nordstrom's free shipping and free returns just makes online shopping easy and hassle-free.

If you're not yet a Nordstrom card holder yet, you can either apply for a credit or debit card to get early access to the sale. If you think you have too many credit cards already, applying for a debit card gives you the same benefits except money will be drawn out directly from your personal bank account. The process is quick, and they'll also give you a $20 Nordstrom note when you spend $100 on the day you've been approved. That's an additional $20 discount to go towards your shopping!

I've noticed that some items are sold out already or no longer available on the website within a few days. I'm not sure if the items will be restocked, but I'll you know when it does. So make sure to follow me on Twitter and Facebook to get notified. I'll also be doing round up posts of my recommendations in the following days, so you can see my other picks from the sale.

Let me know if you have had the chance to check-out the early access to the sale already and what you've picked up on the comments below!

Summer Haul & Try-On: J.Crew, Old Navy, and ASOS

I finally got my Memorial Day Sale orders in the mail (see my sales alert post). Here are some of the things that I bought during the sale to add to my summer wardrobe. Watch the video, so you can see how the items fit on me. For reference, I'm 5'1". I'm usually a size XS for tops and size 0 for bottoms.

I'm a bit bummed that the J.Crew striped shirt that I wanted was already sold-out in my size. Maybe the universe was telling I'm ordering too many striped items. But you can never have too many stripes, in my opinion :).

DIY Choker Wraps (3 Ways)

DIY choker wrap, DIY choker necklace, choker necklace DIY
It's been awhile since my last DIY project. Choker necklaces or choker wraps has been trending lately. These necklaces are the easiest accessories you can possibly make. You can also put your own spin to it depending on your style. They're also so easy to make that you and your friends can easily make multiples of this together to last you until Fall.

And if DIY is not for you, you can also shop some of my inspirations for this DIY:

What's in My Backpack?

What's in my backpack
To start off the year, I've uploaded my first video for 2016 on my Youtube channel. I figured to start things off with a requested video by peeking inside my favorite Zara backpack.

If you've been following me for awhile now, you might have seen this bag numerous times already. I bought this backpack because I needed a backpack to bring with me when I went to New York back in October. I was mainly drawn to the minimalist aesthetic of the bag, and was surprised on how much room it had. It was the perfect back pack to tote around the city while we were out and about doing touristy things. This has also been my go-to bag when I'm running errands because to allows me to be hands free which is perfect when I have a lot of bags to carry after doing my grocery shopping.

Unfortunately, this bag is sold out at Zara. I've scoured the internet for similar options (in different price ranges) in case you are looking for one:

1. Topshop Leather backpack ($85) - Not as structured as the Zara backpack, but it has a very similar look to it. It has a more of a rugged and slouchy look. 100% leather with silver hardware.
2. KENSIE Convertible backpack ($99) - Same shape and look sans the top handle. This backpack also converts to a shoulder bag. It's a two-in-one bag. Faux leather with gold hardware.
3. Michael Kors Small Rhea Zip backpack ($298) - Slightly bigger than the Zara backpack and has more compartments, but with a similar structure. The backpack is available in 4 different colors.
4. Sophie Hulme Mini Rucksack ($850) - The most similar looking backpack out of the four options. The straps, however, are much wider than the Zara backpack. It is also the most expensive bag out of the four. Cowhide leather with gold hardware. Also available in a Berry color.

Watch the video below to see what I carry in my backpack:

3 Chic Ways to Layer for the Holiday

I recently teamed up with Target to bring you some ideas on how I'll be layering for this holiday season! The air is getting cooler, so it's time to bundle up and snuggle. Sometimes having too many layers can make you look bulkier, but here are some outfit inspirations that are both cozy and cute at the same time. You can easily wear these outfit ideas for the upcoming holidays, whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Hanukkah.
Casual holiday outfit

Sometimes spending the holidays with family means lounging around and relaxing in each other's company. It could also mean spending some time outside either ice skating or the park. This outfit is perfect whether you're sitting by the fireplace enjoying a meal with your loved ones, or taking a stroll and admiring the holiday decorations. It's also a bonus that this tunic is very forgiving when it comes to the holiday feast aftermath.

Suede Babe Fall Lookbook Video: Skirting Around

how to style suede button skirt
Crop top / H&M suede skirt / Forever 21 hooded parka / Chelsea boots / Zara backpack

It's finally cold enough for me to wear my coats and jackets! Per usual, LA was tardy to the party, but better late than never. It was odd that just a week ago that we were still experiencing hot summer weather. Once Halloween was over, the temperature dipped down to 50's. It went from 90's to 50's... real quick.

Last night, I posted my Suede Babe Fall Lookbook on my Youtube channel (the video is also embedded below after the jump for your viewing pleasure). This is the first look from the lookbook video. I wore a similar look to my friend's, Heart, SK-II event in New York. Since it was a bit more nippy in the east coast, I opted for some knee high socks to keep the legs warm.

Summer to Fall Lookbook: Denim Dress

H&M denim dress and utility jacket / Forever 21 beanie / Rag & Bone Harrow boots (comes in 6 colors) / Forever 21 necklace

I have been meaning to post these pictures from my latest lookbook video from my Youtube channel where I styled some of my favorite summer pieces for fall. For the first look, I wanted to wear my favorite summer dress again for the cooler weather, so I've paired it with my favorite military jacket to keep me warm. I also like how the denim blue and olive green pairs well together.

Since LA fall weather is abnormally warmer compared to the rest of the country, I could still get away with my bare legs and just booties.

I'm going to be posting the rest of the looks from the lookbook video below for the rest of the week. But for now, you can watch how I styled the rest of my summer pieces down below.

DIY Lace-Up Flats and Shirt

I usually get really inspired to film a DIY project when I try to clear things out of my closet. That's when my mind starts to roll with ideas on how I can transform something old to something "new". So sometimes I end up keeping things that I should really toss or give away, but I'm glad I kept some of the things in my closet today for this DIY.

Even though I'm going through my closet trying to figure out what I don't need, I also start to think about what I think I'm missing in my wardrobe. I've noticed that the laced-up style has become more popular lately. Lace-up skirt, shoes, shirts, and dresses... you name it. And because of this, my subconscience has been on a look-out for some laced-up flats. I have been perusing online (on Topshop and ASOS) for a cute pair.

Here are some options that I've also been eyeing lately. Click the left and right arrow to scroll.

And as I keep digging through my closet, I realized that I have a plethora of henley shirts from Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister (henley shirts were part of my uniform back in the day when I used to work at both stores). Then I thought, this could be something I would wear again by adding a little something to it to make it a bit more updated.

Here are some inspirations for my DIY lace-up shirt.

So on to the DIY. This one is super easy to make and you could practically do it to any of your clothes that needs a little bit updating. But my favorite part of this DIY is that there is no sewing involved. At all.

Video and Picture-by-Picture instructions after the jump.
